After seeing the cool body kit that was cast by Nova I decided to try my hand at a few Vamps and Stingers. Over the next while I'm going to be posting many WIPS as well as finished projects. Most of them I am still building so you'll have to keep checking for updates.

First up is the G.I.Joe Scamp. I wanted to turn the Vamp into a more realistic traditional look Army jeep. What I did was cut out the entire back and build bench seating. Also the roll cage and roof were chopped and side mirrors added. My favorite part is a removable machine gun and stand.

Here's what I started with. A busted up old Vamp, some guy gave me three of these for free, you have to love that.
Image

If you think my customs are easy to build try this one lol Kidding this took me about 40 mins with a Dremel to remove the entire back.
Image
Image

After everything was cut out and trimmed up nicely I started build the new rear floor. It's attached to the seats and then attached again underneath.
Image

After I finished the floor I built up the sides so you can't see where it's been cut. The seats are just flat styrene over top of whats left of the wheels wells.
Image

When I started cutting this the small existing cracks in the front started getting worse. I added styrene underneath as well as a top plate and a bar under the windshield so you can't see any cracks.

Image

Here it is more or less a finished WIP. I flattened out the back side of the window frame to give it a slightly more JEEP look, it's a suttle change but makes a big difference. I also added side mirrors from a Playmobile truck.
Image

Here it is after paint. I went with a traditional Army Olive Drab and some Army star decals. I t also has a spare tire that fits in the back.I will add more finished pictures some.

Here it is finally all done. Very happy with how this turned out, it's exactly what I wanted. The figures are part of my ongoing project called The Northern Guard. They are Canada's division of G.I.Joe.

Next up is the Vamp Heavy Armour. I want to try and build a more modern looking Vamp. Something that looks a bit like a modern Humvee. For this I will use another one of my free Vamps I've had forever. This one someone sprayed primer all over it. I'm going to add an Armadillo turret on the back and try to beef up the chassis some how.

Pretty much finished. I ended up changing out the wheels for ones that looked more heavy duty and much less 80s Hot Rod. I was lucky I found some junk jeep that had the perfect fitting wheels. All I did was pull the old ones off slip the new ones in. They are slightly smaller so the jeep sits lower. I think it looks better like that. Talking to Dremel about how no glue sticks well to that soft plastic he had the idea of sandwiching plastic around the window frame. I worked ok but it held the door at a different angle and it wouldn't close properly. I finally got two small pieces on the doors witch help make the side windows smaller. Then I added some plates tp the bottom of the doors to beef them up.

I also built a small step at the back. I may add a small hand rail as well.

Cobras Newest Tank.

I always wanted to see a Wolverine with side armour like a normal tank, so I made one. At first I wasn't sure about the Rage turret but it's grown on me. I also made a shield for the driver. I realize these pictures suck but I'm tired and going to bed.

Let's forget those WIPS here's the finished product. I wanted a kind of blended modern and vintage style tank. I think I achieved my goal. The side armour on a Wolverine looks way better I will do this again for sure.

This is another Alpha vehicle. I did this as a commission project it's the third one I've done based off my G.I.Joe Grasshopper.

This is the newest one.

This is my Rally Sport Stinger. My idea is it's Vipers personal vehicle, kind of a war trophy after Cobra defeats G.I. Joe. It's also my favorite of my Vamp Stingers I've done. It's basically the same as my Scamp Vamp minus the mirrors. I also mounted the spare tire on the back because the body was broken there and I added a piece to hold it together. It's painted a metallic sky blue over a silver base with a semi gloss coat. I went with a muted set of stickers, ones that weren't so bold in colour. It also has a removable gun mount in the back.

Inspiring work! I broke the taillights on my VAMP as a kid because I always wanted access to that space under the cannon in the back. Your utility version is perfect!

VAMP jeep looks very practical, but the Heavy VAMP is looking very intimidating. Very nice work on both!

Both are fantastic. What is the color and brand of the olive green you used, if I may ask?
