Not an ordinary Storm Trooper, he is an ELITE Storm Trooper.. was in a fierce battle with a Jedi, and only lost his right Thumb!(Had to come up with some stupid story for that!) heres the pics..

Nice idea!

Instead of having lost his thumb to a Jedi, how about he was a sniper clonetrooper that was captured and had his thumb removed by his captors. This way he has trouble using a weapon with his right hand.

Or he was part of a botched batch of clones that all were missing thier thumbs, he was the only one to survive to adulthood...

Why not fix the thumb? drill a whole in the stump, add a bit of pin or paper clip as an armature and rebuild it with some epoxy putty.

or replace the whole arm...it's not like that BACC is anything near rare or hard to find.

I think you need to do some more work with the head...either mod it so the "mouth" and other parts aren't there...or get a hose for the head.

Also the base color on the legs is showing through...with such a simple paint scheme, you'd prolly get better results just using some Krylon semi flat black and or Krylon Flat white.

Any reason for the Cobra sigils on the thighs? is he a Storm Trooper or is he a Cobra?

I know white isn't easy to photograph...but your flash is blowing out alot of the details on the figure.

#1: Don't have epoxy clay.. and can't afford it.

#2: Didn't have another arm, wasn't gonna go to the trouble of having to trade for one.

#3: The head is supposed to look like that..

#4: All i have is Testors paint. again, can't afford to buy all kinds of paints.

#5: I accualy dremeled those off so that they only look like armor. he is a STORM TROOPER.. like i said in the post and topic heading.

Oh, and thanks for the comment DarkJedi :-)

Hate to jack the thread but seems you wanted some crit and Nova did a pretty good way of calling straight, might not want to come off so smug in the future, you will find you get less replys that way.

Didn't really try to come of as "Smug". was just listing reasons that i couldn't fix the thumb, etc.

Honestly, I don't think he came off as being smug. He listed his reasons and that was it.

Not everyone has access to the same materials or has the same level of skills. We make do with what we can do. Some of the board members can paint the best looking customs and that may be easy for them...ie-it's second nature due to their skill level. One don't think anything of it because one is so used to it-experience. Others can cast parts like nobody's business and others can create incredible back stories. Good for them-that's why it's difficult to decide what figure is the best during contests and why some people win awards for their stuff.

-I can't paint worth a damn.
-I've never repaired a thumb.
-I've never submitted a figure to the gallery.
-I've never fixed a broken crotch.
-I've never cast parts.
-I've never painted a vehicle.

Yet one could say I was being 'smug' by stating "I didn't do this ________ during this custom. I left it as it was."

As for the helmet, I know that that head has been released a few times sans the accessory piece, so it's not that big of a deal. Besides I was getting a Darth Vader style mask vibe from it. It is a unique Stormtrooper helmet, just like the variations of the Clonetroopers.

If we can't use parts from other lines (Star Wars for GIJOE or vice versa) without them being intact, then how can we be customizing them in the first place?

So the new rule is, " We can use a specific head or part for a custom, but we have to make sure it is 100% complete only"?

That's like saying I'm gonna use that Boba Fett left arm for a Flash v1 custom, but I can't do anything to disguise what it came from (like painting, gluing on some parts, sanding, etc) or saying a Snake-Eyes custom isn't a Snake-Eyes custom because he doesn't have a visor or an Uzi, or a wolf, or a bag of explosives.

I just wonder sometimes...

Bek and Nova are correct. If you were trying not to seem snippy, you failed.

The paint is choppy, and for the thumb, why not replace the entire hand with a gun or something? There are a lot of things you can do to replace a broken thumb.

Look, i don't wanna start a whole riot here, so how about just forget it?

As for replacing the thumb? i would rather leave it as is, some people may not like it, but i like the story as "He was in a gruesome battle with a Master Jedi, and he was so tough.. he only lost his thumb with one swipe of the blade".
