my king of pop wips . I bought the 5 pack of loose statues/figures direct from china at the same time I got the KISS set. I think it was $20 or so shipped. which is a good deal fodder wise with all the detailed bits each figure has.

I boiled and popped them all one night. lots of separate pieces glued together, which is even better fodder news. then they sat in a bag until 2 nights ago when I got motivated to pick out the parts I wanted to use for my custom/customs. I may end up building/keeping just two of these. I like different ones for different reasons so it is hard to choose.

i am planning on adding articulation to the neck on the captain crunch version, plus swappable forearms with the carpel tunnel looking braces. I do plan on a few alternate heads as seen in the last pic.no paint yet just parts swap/bashing.

i'd love to hear what you guys think about these so far. also any links to other MJ customs in our scale would be greatly appreciated. I searched our site and google with very few results.

Wow. While I am not a fan of MJ I do appreciate the project. You are off to a great start.

thanks sgcaper! I totally know what you mean. for a large portion of my life I too was no MJ fan, now I can appreciate it for what the music is/was.

I decided to make the figures because he was a huge icon from my childhood. I remember buying MJ stickers and plastering them all over my room, not sure why really. the only songs of his I even knew were thriller and beat it.

to me he represents the POP takeover of the world. cobra commander is a good character fit too, I can totally see MJ and CC both throwing a fit when they don't get their way.

Crimson Guard looks perfect, so MJ to me. It's funny, I'm no MJ fan, but this is way more up my alley than your Kiss. Well done.

even at this early stage, they show so much promise. I think largely because of your expert posing of them.

thanks guys!

while looking through my fodder last night I realized that the loop on that cc figure is supposed to go under his arm.

These are all great, especially considering the parts you used.

What else do you have left to do to them?

thanks guys! I really appreciate the kind words!

mostly I need to decide if i'll have 3 complete figures or maybe just two with swappable heads and arms. I have a couple of the forearms with the white (carpel tunnel) braces that will get bashed onto the capt. crunch figure.

detail painting and a few articulation mods, maybe a stage mod for final pics.
