So I have a Skyhawk that has no skids (they dry rotted and broke. So I'm looking for ideas to give it a new spin. Suggestions ( pictures help) I'm trying to get back into the customizing swing.

I always thought it had the look of a mech of some sort. Maybe something like that? Replace the twin engines with twin cannons?

Yeah, a Mech would be cool.

Or some new kind of SHARK-ish craft like the one from Blood Brigade: Image

Star Wars vehicles are often very hard to work with because a lot of them are VERY iconic. No matter what you do to an Xwing or a Tie they are still almost instantly recognizable. Dont get me wrong I have seen great customs done with iconic SW vehicles but it is a tough row to hoe. Now less iconic vehicles like the ones from the new movies may be a little easier to work around.

As said before the Skyhawk would make a great Mech cockpit, it has actual jet potential, could be turned into a helicopter. BB recently made one with pontoons.

Here is a mech here on the site by PLUV. In my opinion it needs arms or guns on the sides to complete it but still a good example.

OR

Make a Ramjet for the final Ramjet race coming up during custom celebration. Cut off the cab to save for future custom and attach the tail with wings and jets to the back of a Ram in some manner.

DREMEL you are indeed the master of vehicle bashing, I was hoping you would chime in with some inspiration. Low and behold there it is. Thank you I now have some ideas as to what I can do.

Thanks, the truth is Other then those 2 customs 20 years ago I really have not done very much with the Skyhawk but looking at what others have done there are definitely lots of possibilities.
