One of M. Bison's champions in his Street Fighter underground tournaments, Balrog is a formidable opponent. With a taste for the finer things in life, Balrog found himself in deep debt. M. Bison offered to pay his debtors in exchange for his service. Now Balrog is glad to be the first of the champions protecting the Dictator, if they survive that far.

Made Balrog from a Marvel figure, El Muerte maybe. Shortened the legs and added the old Corps head.ImageImageImage

Luckily I actually took a pre paint pic.

wow! crazy how well you got the multiple cuts perfect! is that sanding at the shoulders and elbows for rub, or is some shortening going on there too?
impressive!

Looks like Marvel's Rage was the base figure.

Saw this on Facebook a few hours ago. Nice work.

Looks great.

And I love that you smoothed out the mid-thigh articulation. It's a horrible spot for a designer to have ever thought to put a cut line.

That is a cool take on him. Nicely done.

Can't believe you made that Corps head look good. Nice work.

Thanks, green stuff goes a long way in covering the seams. I use 1/8 inch wooden dowels to stiffen the joints and add durability. My kids are welcome to play with my customs and none have broken yet.

EDIT: Completely missed responding about the sanding. That was all for clearance at the joints on the arms, no shortening there. The sanding around the neck was for clearance and allowing the head to sit lower. Dude had some huge neck and shoulder muscles.

Yep, that's the one. Couldnt remember his name and I bought it on clearance just for fodder.

Thanks.

This one didnt have a thigh joint, that's just where I shortened the legs. I do agree about the horrible placement for a joint. I'm really considering redoing the Zangief legs.

Thanks. I decided to use the GI Joe/Big Boa design as inspiration vs the video game look for simplicity.

Thanks, I wish I could take more credit for it but all I did was give it a paint job after removing the neck post and drilling it to fit. I think the shiny plastic and globbed paint on the eyes hid the great sculpt. I was surprised at how much detail and facial structure was there after painting.

Wonderful work ! This strikes me as not only realistic but it gives off an "early to mid 80's vibe" visually. It looks as though it jumped right out of an action movie.

I'd have bought it if it were on a peg in a toy store.
