I like the idea of the newest hiya DC injustice figures. But the execution is off. Their scale is weird, heads and hands tiny for action figures, and the leg articulation made a straight standing pose near impossible.
There are exceptions. The Flash is great. I really only had to trim down his armpits to allow better range of motion. Red Hood is a little flimsy feeing but looks great. Superman I tried to make do at first with a Chris Reeves head and no other mods but he fell short.
So as more preorders started to roll in, I started to look for ways to fix. First was Wonder Woman. The design was off but the torso really is the best I’ve seen in scale. So I experimented and found that the later Marvel U female legs fit her without mods. MU Shanna uppers and Captain Marvel lowers did the trick
Swapped in some HACKS arms (shoulder joint transplant) and a new head and was ready to roll. Similar approach to Supergirl. Then a new head and Marvel U legs on Superman as well (he got a full repaint also). And that got me to here. (Batman and Robin have no hiya parts)
Presently working on Harley Quinn with same concept (but different parts). Her hip joints are different. I used Ms marvel type upper legs, and had to dremel the socket to fit
I have more figs coming so I expect this will be my approach for now. Hybrid figures better than hiya but with sculpts better than I could manage without hiya
