Well as I've said elsewhere I lost my collection approximately 3 years ago. At the time I gave up on Joes as that was the 3rd time I had lost my collection. Well around that time I was already hip deep in another fandom, Gravity Falls. Well I write fan fic for the series and began doing AU work. I have stories were one of the main characters went into professional wrestling, one where 5 of them become Power Rangers, and my main story was a super-hero AU. To supplement my collecting urges I got into Transformers some. This all worked for me for a long while. Well then around August, I had been tossing around a crossover involving TF/GF. That idea sorta puttered out and I got bored and bopping around my bookmarks I came across the File card creator. That got me thinking about how I would integrate the two worlds. Well I had been reading the IDW Joes and loved the idea of the Fobbit hole. And seeing as my normal Joe verse is a Hybrid of Hama/DDP/Sunbow/DIC/Sgt Savage/Renegades, mostly Hama-verse. But I decided that maybe Gravity Falls was essentially a cover town with a Fobbit hole under it. I decided to drop most of the supernatural and have the Dipper's assignment to the Gravity Falls Fobbit hole be the first time he was in town. Now the coincidence is the his great uncles live in the town and his Twin sister moved there to help them with their business. But really if I write the story, it would be a Joe story with some GF influences. And well when you have a genius (multiple PHDs) working above a governmental base, well the great uncles have a connection to the Bunker Fobbit Hole. I did get the filecards made and planned out the figures for the most part. Attachment:

A natural at lumberjack games, her father had hopes that she would take over the families business but she had other plans. Wanting to get out of her small town she enlisted with the marines straight out of high school. After years of survival training with her dad, she took to it like a natural. Despite her seemingly lackadaisical nature, she holds several course records during her training. She caught the team’s eye after her unit encountered a Cobra outpost during a field engagement. “You’d think that someone as laidback as Lumberjill would be a pushover, but nope. During training we dropped her trainee squad in the woods for a pursuit and capture game. The rest of the squad was returned to base in two days. Oh I'm onboard for this. My kid has been watching the show recently and even though I've noticed it on in the background, it is really hard not to take notice of it. I love this crossover idea. |

Now I may still go ahead with this story, not sure yet. I've got three or four WIP stories that I'm currently working on. Now another reason I posted this was the recent announcement of the return of Botcon. Now I know it's not a Hasbro official con, but it got me thinking. I had been rereading some Joe comics and going over what branches of service the various Joes were part of. I was only counting Joes who had figures (ARAH, Sigma 6, Sgt Savage, Renegades, Resolute, etc) and in doing so I went over the FSS sets that YoJoe have on file. Adding these all together got me thinking of come of the Joes we never got in 3 3/4 toy form: DDP's Firewall, IDW's Hashtag, Extreme’s Inferno, Renegades’ Dreadnok Machete, Baroness’s Athena Army, etc. Well I decided to come up with my own FSS set. I'm only slightly aware of the show, and only because there's some garbage thrown into a portal on Rick & Morty that falls out of another portal on Gravity Falls (or vice versa). YouTube eats my brain. Looks like a big project and I'm interested to see where you take it. Could you post images of the source characters for comparison as you go? |

past nastification wrote: Looks like a big project and I'm interested to see where you take it. Could you post images of the source characters for comparison as you go? Well right now this is as much wishful dreaming/future planning. Like I said in the first post, right now I have no figures to work with. I lost my collection (And everything but a suitcase of clothes and my backpack with my laptop) 3 years ago. I'm trying to get on SSD, but until I do I'm pretty much broke. But the customizing bug has bit me and since I have little to no digital (ok, they're limited to MS Paint) or drawing skills, this is the best I can do for now. When I finally get the chance to do these IRL, I will be posting WIP pics and such. I do have some MS Paint Joe vehicles if people would like to see them. |

Well If I ever get to the civilians He would be on the list. The main ones I would probably do after these two are the rest of the Pines, Pacifica, Soos, Tambry, & Candy. |

2DARK2C wrote: those are cool! they have a real retro toy look. Thanks. I first came across some of these while looking at Star Wars paper minis. I saw someone had done a HISS, Fang/Cobras, AGP, and Vamp. And while looking for other's I found Don's Devilfish work. He had madde it into race boat and I asked if he would mind if I took it back to a Joe craft and I was hooked. It let me scratch the customizing bug without having a figures to work with. Since then I have used his work and even gotten permission from a few other people to let me work with their templates. I have turned some of these templates to create some new vehicles too. G.I. Joe's Rescue-1 One of the things I always wanted for the GI Joe team was a dedicated medical vehicle. I had the Lanard ambulance and used it, but I wanted a GI Joe one. So I decided that I would do one if I came across an ambulance I liked. GI Joe - Mobile Cart These little carts are used through out the PITT to help transport personnel or equipment. Oktober Guard' Transport Truck I see this truck as being one used around there base that would possibly be put into battle when Cobra/Red Shadows/Iron Army/Skar would attack the base. Oktober Guard Battle Cart An homage to the Battle Cart the Oktober Guard had in their first appearance. Cobra Diamondback A Cobra counter to the Hammer/Brawler. Cobra Desert Hunter A desert vehicle for Major Bludd's desert squad. Crimson Guard Roundabout Back when still I had my collection, I had some KO Chap Mei vehicle that I used to supplement my motor pool. One set was a trio of little two passenger carts, 1 passenger in front and 1 in back. I see this as being a cart used by the Siegies to travel around the various Cobra bases, but armed in case of enemy attack. Dreadnok Party Wagon Yo Joe Cola The favorite drink of the Real American Heroes. And finally I decided to try my hand at making one myself. Cobra Battlefield Robot Hovercraft |

Attachment: APC Attachment: 'Cuda APC Attachment: Night Force Night Scrambler Cobra Ferret Cobra Troop Transport from the Tyco GI Joe Train Set Steel Horse aka the Tyco Train Set Iron Grenadier Duster - This is my attempt to make Metal Storm's DX-4 "Vaporizer" (or at least the version that made an appearance in CSI: Miami's 'Guerillas In The Mist' Iron Grenadiers Courier - This one started as a joke. I saw the Vespa template and started messing with it. Then I decided to make it a IG vehicle, I meant it's a perfectly European thing to do. I figured Destro would have them for use when the enemy was jamming communications to run commands along the battlefront. |

I had a couple of the WOW Power scooters back when they came out. I do remember painting one jet black, but I vaguely remember doing it. Here are a few of the Tonka vehicles from the early '90's. Steel Brigade MP Truck Steel Brigade Motivator Dump Truck - I named it the Motivator since most Seabee dump trucks opperate under the MTVR handle. Steel Brigade Tash Bulldozer - Named it after the bulldozer in the John Wayne classic "Fighting Seabees" Steel Brigade Striker - I added it to the Steel Brigade since the rest of the Tonka line was also Steel Brigade. |
