  • In order to show case everyone's work equally, please post multiple customs on the same day into a single thread. If you have a lot of pictures of your work you may have to add them to a separate post within that thread.
  • Please do not link to a sale thread or to eBay from your critique thread. This section isn't to be used to market your finished work. The Market Place section is better suited for that purpose.

#77 Cobra Soldier

This artwork starts the 3rd rotation of characters, running from 1982 to 2019, plus Marvel, Sunbow, DiC, Devil's Due, and IDW.

Like the artwork I did of the Cobra Officer, it's largely just an update of the 1982 figure.

The goggles on the helmet were not without precedent, as two fortress guards wore them in Marvel's GI Joe #1. And I wanted them there for when the drawing get inevitably recycled as the Viper Glider Pilot.

The minor color changes for COBRA uniforms across the figures, the toon, and the comic drives the analytical part of my brain nuts. But it looks great.

Thanks, guys.

I agree on the color changes. Marvel is my normal default, although here I went with grey webgear instead of Marvel's caramel.

I snuck in a Sunbow Cobra Soldier in my Ramar artwork.
