Sonto Industries model 115 hard labor manipulator arm

Another I finished a while back and am just now getting around to posting. Robot arm built using parts from a HALO accessory (I think that's what it was) and parts from an old The Corps space shuttle manipulator arm, some scratch building here and there, bottom most base is the lid to a peanut butter jar, control panel was built upon a battery hold from 2DARK (as was the HALO part), control panel itself is a copied part from an old ROBOTIX set and various cables from thick string and an old necklace. All warning and misc. signage was designed by me, printed and glued to surfaces.

I saw the first photo and i was all like 'eh, that looks pretty cool'

then I got to the third photo and legit 'whoa'd out loud

love it. Agree with you on the weathering. If people just gave me assembled pieces all day long to weather, I think I'd be ok with that.

Yeah, that was impressive.

The unpainted pictures make it look cheap and clunky, I don't know I would have seen the potential in that.

Thanks for the kind words guys, I truly appreciate it. :) Giving a mish-mash of parts a unifying paint job helps bring all the randomness together.

And I don't know if anyone is wondering why the control panel is attached via such a long line....I was thinking about real-world safety. You'd don't want to be close enough to be able to drop a half ton item on the operators bench, because you know some idiot would try it! :-D
