#93 Cobra Blackstar

This is a character that I don't have much of an appreciation for. The figure is so-so and there wasn't much representation in Marvel Comics (at least as I remember).

Sometimes I'll draw a figure and find a new fondness for it, or learn to see it in a new way. But there's not much about the character that jumps out at me on Cobra Blackstar, so I tried to streamline the look a bit. The elements are all still there, but less bulky, and I colored some of the details Hasbro left unpainted on the figure.

The biggest difference is that I've shown a CB with his helmet off, revealing a head-gripping mask w/ an open face area. The head of the figure was too rounded in appearance, so I sidestepped it.

another great piece with excellent form and fill lines. i have to go look up the character to know, but are those the colors the figure had? in another color i could see him as a pilot ,moonwalker, or diver.

after seeing the figure i think you did a good job editing out the weird design elements! i saw this image, and would like to see these muted colors on yours.

Thanks.

I think I can find a way to tone down the colors and I'll drop it when it's re-colored.
