This is a nifty concept. I love all the weapon choices right down to the rocket launchers. It takes it beyond just a color translation which was also handled fabulously.
Thank you.
Generally I try to handle things in a 'spirit of the original' sorta way.
It may not be 100% straight on a modern copy of the original figure...BUT if it honors the spirit of the original (or I can apply some logic to why its different) then its OK to make changes.
I started that concept when I first did versions of Kangor, Red Jackal, and a few others.
The fact that those figures were little more than slight repaints of the US characters kinda set me off.
So I swapped out Kangor's body for Night Adder...small change, yet makes perfect sense that since the character is from Brazil he would be darker skin. Similar with Jackal...I changed the head to red gave him a the Black CC body from Retaliation...boom...another relative of Destro, and yet...not Destro.
In the case of Armor Tech...well any improvement over those bulky bricks was gonna help, but as long as it felt like a suit that was an upgrade from the suits of that time...it was gonna work.
Keep the spirit of a character, find a logical reason for why its different and its good.
