Every Joe #221: Cobra Combat Ninja

A figure from the GI Joe Retaliation toyline, the Cobra Combat Ninja might have been in the movie. But I'm not about to watch that movie again, so I can't say for sure.

The best things about the movies were all the toys we got from them, for sure. This was an interesting release, nothing other than his sword says "ninja" and that tech head as awesome as it is just doesn't fit with the rest of the design to me. But it's great for customs. Good take on a solid, but strange, figure.

More great work.
I really think these are either the inspiration for or based on the Revanche Ninjas from the Hama-verse. The head fits at least.

I can't find much about them but you're right. That cover is from 2013 but I don't know if they showed up before that. Synopsis for the issue also calls them Blue Ninjas.

Thanks.

I agree that it's ninja in name only, but otherwise a solid design. Oh, Hasbro.

Thanks.

It would appear DotD did the homework below.

2013?

When was that? Was that a year?

It seems like the last twenty years just flew by. One day in the early 2000's NS figures came out, then... here we are.

Looking into it, they first appeared in issue #171 the Oct 2011 issue of RAH. Yeah, they're called the Blue Ninjas for the most part but we find out they are a ninja clan that took the Techno-ninjas even further than the Night Creepers and went full cyborg. It's an interesting storyline.
