A ninja from the Microforce line, this is Ghost Blade-Oni.

The Microforce figures were static figurines in distorted 1:60 (best guess?) scale, giving me an opportunity to guess at what some of the details were supposed to be.

Was this intended as some kind of supernatural ninja, or just a guy in a skull mask? I went with skull mask.

What was the Microforce figure wearing? I went with a gi draped with a shawl of some kind, pull back over the shoulders like a cape.

Nice. Great expansion of the Minimal details.
If I remember correctly, the new characters from this line were supposed to get regular figures but it just fizzled out. I wanna say he was going to be a repaint of Blind Master (new head obviously).

Yes, you are correct. There was a Hasbro table with prototypes at a convention somewhere along the way. The Microforce mini-figures would have been upscales.

What I found really odd about the set was that Tankblast was the only new GI Joe faction character. I'm assuming Night Claw the Panther was a Cobra, of course.

They were a fun detour in Joe collecting. Glad they didn't make too many of them, though.

But a few more would have been good!
