First up is my new Night Raven Pilot, Wild Weasel:

Totally a WIP, I was doing a batch of black dye, and since I think WW is a total BADASS, and I had an extra, I decided "hey... why not?"

Image

Next we have the return of Dr Mindbrawler, seen here previously, with some fine-tuning after getting some good tips from all y'all:

Image

Image

Image

Then we have Dr Mindprowler (sneaking a midnight snack):

I had a set of Quick Kick legs that had a run in with some extreme heat and the toes curled up a little bit and otherwise useless, so I thought I'd try something a bit different just for fun... :D

Image

Image

Image

Here we have Raptor, The Snow Angel

Image

I was in Michael's before Christmas and came across these interesting little wings for a buck. I saw them and had a sort of brainwave... I never noticed some of the cool detail on Raptor until I repainted him... He's sort of a cool figure after all...

Image

Image

Image

Next we have... Mr NoName (at least for now)

Image

Head: POTC Will Turner
Torso: Good To Go
Arms: Repeater
Waist: Flint
Legs: Crankcase
Holster :Roadblock (Spy Troops)

Guns: MarauderInc and 25A Flint

This just worked out so smoothly, I couldn't be happier. I started out sanding off the originally molder on holster to replace it with a new one and was bummed to find that I dremmeled too deep, ruining the thigh - until I discovered that holster that had a place for me to put the screw and keep the leg together. It also happened to fit the pistol almost perfectly. I gave him swivel wrists and elbows and I used the neck from one of my many Big Ben's head, and had the thought to make my boy a removable winter cap, which I think looks pretty cool...

So what's the word? Are we ready for submission? Any thoughts, tips, whatever, I can take it. I am open to suggestions on making things better, and I love tyo hear what people think, so lets have it :D

Thanks!

I love Mindprowler. I'd actually recommend taking it up some notches, figuring out a way of doing a smoking jacket, fez or night cap and some bunny slippers and going whole-hog on the "Night Ops" Mindbender clone.

They mostly look like their ready to go dancing in a club with no women, but since their ARAH I'm not complaining.
The last one is pretty cool.

The WW does look cool in black but I'd like to see some details painted on.

I'm still a fan of Mindbrawler but I defintely love the probe.

Mindprowler is great but I agree with beav. However, socks on a custom is probably one of the best things ever.

Raptor the snow angel reminds me of a 70's disco star. I could totally see him lowering from the ceiling in a flashy disco.

Mr. No Name throws me. After all these great funny customs a serious one forces me to switch gears. I like it. It seems like an arctic gear custom or possibly Oktober Guard of some sort.

Good stuff!

I LOVE the Wild Weasel. It reminds me a ton of his first apparance where his helmet and toro were all black, a look I always meant to copy with a little dye, but never remember to throw the parts in when I have a pot of black going.

Mindbrawler is. . . disturbing to say the least. I'll just try and wash that from my memory.

Mindprowler is neat, but I agree with Beav, he needs more to differentiate him. A Killuminati Pimp Daddy Destro jacket would look sweet with a fez.

Raptor should be on a Christmas tree somewhere.

The noname guy looks pretty cool, but needs a background to really catch my attention. Is he an Oktober Guard guy, or a Joe or what? I'll be watching to see what you come up with :)

I love them! Funny customs wins! The shoe-less Mindbender is my favourite.

Very nice work on all of them! Sock-wearing Mindbender needs either a sock puppet or sock monkey accessory :-P

Great job Lace!

freak, freak, freak.

But on the other one, will turner, that is pretty damn cool.

You should make him that guy that fell out of the copter on black hawk down and how he had to become a bad ass to get over the humiliation, :)

Mindbrawler came out great. The Tat looks fan-friggin'-tastic. He's got very succulent nipples too. :shifty:

"Night Ops" Mindbender looks great. I don't about the robe and fez but maybe a Chuckles torso and some Heavy Metal arms will give you some baggy pajama tops. But some piggy slippers would rock.

Mr. No Name. Who are you kidding? You know as well as I do that is a character snap shot of Devlin from Lipzz III: Set to Chill. Word on the street is that because of the writer's strike Devlin will only be grunting, scoring with the ladies, and kicking ass.

Raptor needs a halo.

Makes me feel creapy that I like him.

Really what the heck is going on in your head man?

:-)

Always be nice to the crazy people.

Wild Weasel is a cool Idea... First thing I'd do though is swap in a different pair of arms. I've never liked how WW's arms get sorta flat at the wrists.

Not sure what you plans for details are, but I think a lot of Dark grey like a Strato Viper would look pretty cool...it'd also work to show the details better than all black.

MindBrawler's looking pretty good...the chest isn't perfect...but I think that works with the idea that he's a geneticaly altered, and while maybe not perfect...he's tried to make himself look perfect, with tattoed or tanned on muscle definition and such.

The probe is a great Idea...I think you could add functionality to it if you used a pair of small button magnets. Embed one in the codpeice of the crotch, and build a bit of a base to the probe to hold the other. You could even make it look like the Codpeice transforms into a "Prod-peice". you know it's a good idea cuz MindBrawler's Crotch is already attractive...make it magnetic.

Mind Prowler is inspired. a very creative use of parts. I love the little details like the holes in the heel of the sock.

I think you could go in two different directions and they would each have their own appropriate accessories that would complete him quite well.. Basicaly Old or Young Mindprowler. If he's old give him a candel stick, a night cap, maybe a cane, somthings to help the old guy find the midnight loo. If he's young, I think a sock monkey would fit quite well with him...or maybe a blanket...and maybe some cookies or crumbs on his mustache to tell you where he's been prowling.

Snow Angel Raptor is a fun idea...goofy repaints of goofy characters always are.

I could see him having glitter sprinkles all over his body like his wings...or at least matching on the feathers.

Mr. NoName throws me off...I think mostly because it's using a head I've seen you use repeatedly in self customs.

I love the cammo...paint job looks really good other than a couple spots...like the bottoms of the sleves.
Mods to the wrists are a tad rough...his left hand dosn't seem to match up to the arm properly...might just be the angle in the picture though.
I'd ditch the hat too...as big as it is, plus the oversized look of the Vest on that torso...really amplfies the pea-headed-ness of the smaller POTC head on a ARAH body.

Like the tweaks to MindBrawler - the Tat is awesome, but the codpiece-probe is just plain wrong :P

I think you should leave MindProwler as-is - he looks just like MB kicked off his boots to raid the fridge. I really dig this custom.

I was reading through some old Marvel comics last night - and hit the arc where Raptor is introduced and CC starts flicking him crap for his gay costume. So "Snow Angel Raps" made me shoot Diet Dr Pepper thru my nose when I saw him (and FYI - Diet Dr P stings like a mother#%%@$)

No-Name looks great - I'm loving the camo job, but that Will Turner head just looks way too small on that body. It's funny - I just hollowed out a Big Ben hat the other day for my Iceberg custom - man, what a pain in the ass that was - I should have just chopped the top off of Iceberg's BBI head and glued the hat on top. Kudos for making yours work.

Exactly, he needs a stockinged cap, and one of the candle holders that has the ring on it that you carry it with.

Then he needs a small teddy bear for the other arm that has purple pants with black and silver highlights and silver chains on the torso.

I pity the lowly Cobra Trooper that comes face to face with MindProwler in the Cobra HQ hallways. It's already an uncomfortable occassion, but then when the Trooper notices MindProwler is carrying the teddy bear, ya know he wants to say something but he just can't. This fearsome Cobra bigwig carrying a teddy bear to help him sleep at night. It's like something outta Twisted ToyFare...
