I never thought I would make a custom of Quick Kick but I was playing around with parts and I got inspired. Quick Kick was not nearly as much work as my 25th Kamakura but it was a pain repainting all Gung-Ho’s sickly colored flesh tone to a better looking color. I am torn on the backpack. I was going to paint it black but I kind of dig the grey color of the original. Anyway…that’s enough rambling. Let me know what you think.

Kamakura

Head: DTC Spirit
Body: 25th Gung-Ho
Upper Arms: 25th Gung-Ho
Lower Arms: 25th Storm Shadow
Legs: 25th Storm Shadow

Backpack: Quick Kick v1
Strap: 25th Storm Shadow w/Scarlet Throwing Stars
Katana: 25th Storm Shadow
Nunchucks: Quick Kick v1
Knife: 25th Storm Shadow

P.S. If you missed my 25th Kamakura, you can check him out here: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=515

Nice work, but I'm just not seeing him as Quick Kick. It's partly the lack of sash, partly the long hair. As it is, paint his hair white, give him a Marauder AK-47 and you have a helluva great Nth Man custom

And since the so called "Ultimate Ninja" is a Larry Hama creation it's pretty cool that you more or less accidentally made him while making a character from Larry's best known work.

The leg/torso combo doesn't work too well IMO. The shortness of the legs in comparison make him look a bit awkward. Still, you did what you could with the parts available.

Nice figure. But I'm not a fan of the head.

The head looks like it is sitting too high. It gives the figure a stretched out appearance. Did you avoid the bare feet on purpose?

I think a couple very minor tweaks could make this guy rock as Mac.

First, I'd lose the wraps on his wrists. I'd use the Gung Ho arms with their wristbands.

Next, find a sash to replace the Stormy strap. That accessory is just so definitively Stormy that I think it's making a lot of folks go right to "ninja" with this guy.

Third, I'd either replace his feet with some SHS Namor feet or I'd paint the feet bare inside the sandal straps. I'd probably go with the former as it's easier for me, but you don't seem to have a problem painting flesh.

Finally, I'd drill the hole in the head a bit deeper so it sits lower on the neck.

Minor things, but I think they'd really close the gap.

Great idea, otherwise. I may try this myself.

Actually with most of Ray's suggestions this could make a great Billy from Predator.

The Martial Arts characters are becoming too common in customs! Must destroy ninja! And whatever Quick Kick was supposed to be. Just some karate guy, or what?

Anyway nice job.
