I have been brainstorming like crazy lately and I got a few WIPs to show off as a result.

This is the next on the desk after Deep Sea Cross Country is done.
I was always a fan of the original Overlord and never really cared for the DDP version. But I do like him as Serpentor's general so I added a cape for a little more regal look.

How much do I like Zartan V2? Enough to remake the figure in new sculpt and work it into my world. I'm calling him Zeke and he's another illegitimate child of Zartan.
Image

Not sure about this guy. At first I was going to make him a Cobra agent but then I said maybe Overkill pre-cybernetics. And then I got a Fast Draw vibe from him for some reason and then my buddy suggested Barbecue. I dunno yet but I like the WIP.
Image

And then here is my Zarana, I think. I thought the Spytroops version was too cute for a biker hag like Zarana but the original was way too ugly. So I'm tryng for a midpoint between the two. A girl that would be attractive to some guys but too tough for most of them.

Very nice work so far. Zartan's son is a great character idea.

Yea, I am really liking your Son-Tan. I was thinking of doing something very similar with toothpicks for hair spikes. Glad to see that it should work... ;)

And it's a cool idea using the shoulder pads to hold a cape on. Overlord is looking very tasty, man

Excellent work all around

Nice...I like using the shoulder pads over the cape on Overlord. Mods to the head look pretty clean...though I'm so stuck in my ARAH that i think he still needs black hair.

Son-tan is cool, good idea on the tooth pick hawk. you might want to try and smoothe out the area around the pics a bit.

I get a real mummy type vibe from you 3rd wip. almost like the strips of cloth Serpentor was wrapped in when he was first created...could work well with your pre cybernetics overkill idea.

Zarana should look good too, I'll look forward to seeing these painted.

but honestly the idea of Deep Sea Diver Hill Billy Delux has me more curious than anything else.

These are looking good ave. That's a great take on Overlord. I don't have him in my world, but after seeing what you've done, I may have to rethink that. And I can't wait to see that Zarana completed.

Thanks for the encouragement. Deep Sea Cross Country is done and posted in my other thread. Overlord is done and posted there as well. So here are some more I found laying around on my desk and a little more work done to Zeke.

Zeke: I sanded a bit off the top of the head and redid the hair. I sculpted on a neck ball so the head no longer wobbles in the torso. Got the knife sheaths on the legs and filled in the gaps. Sculpted boots around the backs of the calves and filled in the gap in the leg guards. Still not sold on the torso and lower arms. I'm thinking I might go with a VvV GH torso for the ripped sleeves look and see if I can mod it to get a leather vest out of it. And switch out the lower arms to something with just fingerless gloves on.

Image

Destro: This is possibly going to be his chromed head with a Dooku head as his unmasked look. This is still pretty early in the planning stages.

Image

T'Gin'Zu: I really wanted to use the Star Wars skirt. Started this one without kowing who it could be. Figured the guy named after TV knives could use a new look. I liked the hooded look but wanted him unmasked. And I'm planning on using the NF Storm Shadow paint scheme for him.

You know, that Destro would look killer with THAT head being his unmasked version. Hhmmm. :shifty:
