1:18th Stagecoach?

Got a tip to share? Have a question about the hobby? Need input on parts or weapons? Have great idea for a custom figure or vehicle? Too lazy to do it, or just want to share the idea with others? All that and more goes in here.

so i know i way missed the Steampunk G.P. but I just got an idea for two figures and a horseless carriage, but are there any 1:18th stagecoaches... google and ebay were no help...
thanks in advance

thinking I might lean towards a 1:18th Munsters koach if I can't find a horse draw coach

Have you checked out Playmobil? Their stuff is usually usable for Joes, and I know they had a western line at one point.

Actually I was going to use some of my more victorian looking Playmobil objects as background fodder!
NICE tip. My cousin used to love the western series. I have to ask him if he has one if not they are probably cheap if loose on ebay!

there was a 1:18 western line in the '70s -- made by Marx or somebody like that --

not only did it come with stagecoach & horses, but a strongbox, driver, complete camp set, and some other stuff. They also did a conestoga-type wagon with accessories.

lost mine long ago, found one on ebay a few years back, but the price was absolutely ridiculous --

edit: i can't speel for crap today!

was it from Gabriels 'Lone Ranger/Zorro/Legends of the West' collection?

by joemichaels70

i don't think so, ZG -- i don't think it was branded with any recognizable characters --

i remember loving that playset, though -- i opened it in the car and lost some of the branding irons down the seat cushions. :-(

Off topic I suppose, but the set you're describing sounds more like the Marx Johnny West set, but that was 1:6 scale. I have tons of that stuff, and it was the first toy line I got into re-collecting as an adult.

Perhapes the butch and sundance one is the one you mean, but I get a huge war wagon feel from it.

Didn't find any others though, there was on from a 6 inch line that may work in a pinch as I recall but where Ihave no clue.

I'm pretty sure that's not what he's talking about. I believe he's referencing the same line I mentioned in the 1:18 horse thread. Man, now I'm gonna have to search til I find it...

by joemichaels70

nope, not johnny west, and not butch & sundance, or at least not that one --

now i'm going to have to start searching, too.... thanks guys...

was there one in the wild, wild west toyline?

by greenshirt

ok found a pic of the line and a name: it was "Legends Of The West" on the top of this page:

The toyline you're looking for is Legends of the West, most likely the "Empire Toys" versions as the "Excel" editions were bigger than Joes.

It's a stagecoach, with accessories, campfire, horses, etc. I have it tucked away in my storage locker - it is indeed very rare, and pricey to find one complete and unbroken. I have a few of the figures from that line as well.

I can't find an image online, but I KNOW there was a page devoted to all the toys and such, it helped me sort through it all when I got it.

I'll keep looking, but I doubt I'll find anything. If I have a chance, I'll pull the one I have out and take a couple of pics.

Found a pic - there was one in my old BHT toy-store photos.

There is another one from the line - all brown with doors as well.
