Joe-scaled fire engine?

Got a tip to share? Have a question about the hobby? Need input on parts or weapons? Have great idea for a custom figure or vehicle? Too lazy to do it, or just want to share the idea with others? All that and more goes in here.

Anyone know of a good joe-scaled fire engine? A full engine, not just a fire SUV or something. I need one for a custom. Thanks in advance!

I had a diecastish (tonka?) ladder truck as a kid. It fit joes though it wasn't designed to have an opening cab. If I recall you could get joes in there threw the open back of the cab where some rear facing seats were. It had an extending ladder and was pretty massive.

My kids have a Chap Mei ladder truck that holds two figures in the cab. I picked it up at goodwill because it had a cool little control station at the base of the ladder I wanted for a custom. Not sure when it was made or if it is still out in stores.

Most of those Tonka vehicles are in 1:18 scale, so they do match up with the Joes pretty well. My son has some of them like the ambulance, garbage truck, tow truck, etc. They all seem to put the electronics in the truck cabs, so hardly any of them allow you to put figures in the cab sections.

I saw a decent firetruck in the same scale at Target, in the blue box aisle. The figures with it weren't as cool, but you could fit figures inside of the cab.
