Can anyone recommend a good removal agent? I want to take the silver Cobra off the Crimson CC's chest to make a Red Laser custom, but I don't want to damage the torso in the process.

Will Goo Gone work? How about Testors's Brush Cleaner?

Isopropyl alchohol is usually my first choice. It'll remove most toy paint. Metallics, like silver, are usually the most fragile paints, as far as removers go. Hasbro's been known to use a silver paint that's almost bulletproof, so mileage may vary.

A pencil eraser has been useful in the past on some logos.

Watered down acetone/nail polish remover. Use in well ventilate area so you dont pass out, and apply with a q-tip.

Use too much and itll burn thru the plastic.

I think thats my last hope before a knife scaping. I tried alochol, Goo Gone, Testor's brush cleaner, and Mineral Spirits. All I have to show for my elbow grease is a tiny spot that rubbed off.

As kids, how did our figures paintjobs get so abused by accident, yet as adults, we can't rub them off on purpose?

Hmm, maybe my almost 4 year old can handle this job... :-P

Make that you're ultra LAST resort. Maybe with brand new razor blade, otherwise that method rarely works smoothly.

Try the acetone first, that's always worked for me. Just make sure its dollar store brand, which seems to be watered down just enough....or if you use name brand stuff, water it down quite a bit. You'd rather have not enough than too much.

I am planning on doing the same thing & also wondering how to remove it.
I know people were telling me before to try "Goof Off". I have yet to even see anything named that here. The only thing close is called Goo Gone.
Maybe just cover the logo with a Red Shadow logo sticker.

have you tried the Mr. Clean Magic erasers? they're like an ultra fine grit sandpaper....if done with a little water they might take your logo off and no mar up the chest surface.

That worked perfect. 2 minutes of rubbing and the logo was gone, with no damage to the figure at all. Great suggestion!
