Paint rub on 25th Ann.

Got a tip to share? Have a question about the hobby? Need input on parts or weapons? Have great idea for a custom figure or vehicle? Too lazy to do it, or just want to share the idea with others? All that and more goes in here.

I'm doing a custom using the 25th Flint, but the paint keeps rubbing at his shoulders, what are you guys doing to prevent this? I've shaved some of the plastic away, which helped, but didn't completely fix the problem.

I had to sand a consderable amount off on my glenda figure to get the paint on her shoulders to quit rubbing. I had a similar problem on the upper part of her legs as well. I had to make sure I had enough room between the shoulder joint and the shoulder for the paint and clear coat to fit well. As long as you dont sand down the post on the shoulder joint you should be OK, when the shoulder gets glued back together the tightness of the arm is where to the 2 torso halfs press on the shoulder post so you need to make sure that the shoulder is sanded down enough.

Yep - sand the joints down, then apply very thin coats of Model Master paint (the Apple Barrel & other cheap stuff just keeps flaknig off regardless.) Then between coats, I'll work the joint around to see where the paint rub occurs, and I'll re-sand.

Then make sure to seal it up, and it'll work most of the time (still can't avoid it with some colors, though.)

Thanks guys.
