Removing paint from a RHINO

Hey guys, I have aquired a RHINO from a friend that attempted to paint it desert sand color, (appel barrel or delta cream coat paint), so far I have tried warm soapy water with no luck (was able to get paint off of the doors but nothing else), rubbing alcohol with some luck but a lot of rubbing, any suggestions that will not ruin the plastic?

To be honest the best thing you can do is take the vehicle completely apart, buy yourself some white primer and and primer the whole vehicle. Just make sure all the stickers are off and they apply a nice coat of primer. I personally use the kind pictured below. It goes on nice and when its dry gives a nice base to apply color too. The Rhino for the most part is molded in black so you are going to have one heck of a time trying to get the tan color to cover up the black color. If you primer it with a nice white primer you have a nice white coat to that will make it so you only have to put your tan color on one time instead of several if you leave it black. Below is a pic of the primer I use and you can pick it up at any Home Depot store in the spray paint section.

You're trying to get his paint off to restore it to factory condition? I've never used it but I've heard wonders about Goo Gone. Perhaps others will pipe up with more info about it.

But if you're trying to get it off to repaint it, I'd go with carnie's advice and not worry about it too much. Just primer and paint to your liking.

acetone will basically take anything off, but whipe rub and remove or it will haze the material but acetone is harsh enough to remove factory paint, i used it to remove annoying police letters on chap mei vehicles

If you do use acetone, use it very sparingly and don't let it sit on the bare plastic. It *will* eat plastic like acid if you let it.
