I used gunmetal with a black wash on mine. The pics I posted a while back didn't really display this well, but in person, it has a nice "robotic" look, while still blending nicely with his uniform.
The 8" figure's arm has a two-tone scheme for the metal parts, a dark gunmetal gray and a bit of dark bronze. So a nice gunmetal would be good I think.
