Strangest things you've ever asked your spouse/signif other

Got a tip to share? Have a question about the hobby? Need input on parts or weapons? Have great idea for a custom figure or vehicle? Too lazy to do it, or just want to share the idea with others? All that and more goes in here.

The title should read "Strangest things you've ever asked your wife/significant other while customizing." First of all, I've got to say I've got an awesome wife that is very cool with my collecting/customizing. I was working on a female figure tonight, tyring to rebuild the torso, and asked my wife "Do her boobs look even?" I got a significant eyebrow raise and a half smile. I think she thought I was joking, but I was being serious. Have any of you encountered a similar or different customizing occasion with your sig.nif?

I just started in all this myself...but something kinda funny...

I printed out a copy of about 5 pages from the Serpentor origin comic to use as a "guide".

My wife would look at what I was doing and say "Thats great!" and then proceed to ask a question about something in the comic that I didn't have totally accurate. (not really knowing at my level...and really the idea...is not to make a totally to scale replica)

But about once a day she would say something like... it looks like there are multiple canisters they are dropping the "mummys" into? Are you only going to use one? Or you need to make the tubes bubble... . The plastic around Serpentors helmet is good, but how ill he break it?

all good ideas, but they point out quickly my flaws without her even knowing. :-)

Yeah, they have a way of doing that. And sometimes they are right. My 3-yr-old helped me with my first ground-up-dio. It's really amazing what a little one can bring to the table. Lots of "What's" and 'Why's" that as adults we may overlook. Thanks for sharing Tunnelrat.

we have a 2 year old and one of her favorite toys in 25th Cobra Commander. She walks around with him saying "hat on, hat off" and then she uses 25th Timber to give all the toys a kiss "lick" (we have Labradors so her little joeverse is sweet)

I know what you mean...my wife is totally right...it just very quickly illustrates my novice level.

My wife is fairly cool w/ my sickness, she realizes it could be worse, thankfully her own mother pointed out that I could be drinker, or drug user or run around, but yeah I had the same experience a while back making a female Venomism Maxiamia and asked her if the boobs looked real? she looked at the rest of the figure and asked what was it it ...super mutant and she go bigger baby enjoy

Most of the time all I get from Baroness is what are you working on? And I tell her and then she says cool and then she looks in her joe stuff and asks if i can make her something then i make it and she's happy. not made any dio stuff yet but i will

"Is it okay if I cut apart some of the hairpins you wore during our wedding? Wolverine needs metal claws."

The answer was yes.

HAHA I have to say that one probably would not have gone well for me :)

Well I had about 14 answers ready to go, until I read the small type: "...while customizing".

However, 3 of my original answers may still apply.... :brawlin:

I've been at this long enough now that there's not much that surprises my wife. A few months back I was sculpting (what I can't recall) and with the extra putty I added a frank and beans set to another figure- then asked my wife how it looked. She commented something like, "I think it needs to be bigger". Then said "You are kidding with that, right?".

Awhile back during the Python Patrol GP, I asked my wife to escort me in Walmart's ladies section so I could browse the fishnet stocking section for a pattern. She looked at me and got a good giggle and actively suggested several to me. I didn't like any that I saw but I appreciate that she is extremely supportive of my hobby. LOL.

Well, aside from asking how my current Zombie's project was looking and seeing her recoil in horror...not much in the way of strange.

I was kind of happy when she told me that my Zombies looked like they were rotting though.

Edit: I frogot to add that she is still asking why I want a USS Flagg and I calmly point towards my Navy SEAL customs based on the Shiprwreck V2, 3, and 4. I mean, they've gotta launch their missions from SOMEWHERE.
