Any one know of a website or anything where I can get some water transfer decals of Cobra insignias or something similar for custom figures?

Why not just go to a Hobby Lobby and buy the Testors model decal maker kit and do your own water slide stickers? I think you can go to http://www.testors.com and order them as well. Thats what I've been using lately. The only other places I've seen are regular stickers not the water slide stuff.

If your talking about Sticker for like a Cobra Trooper or Grimson Guard, J. Ruben has some for sale. I think he sells them for $0.20 each. I ve used them all the time on my Cobra DeAco and White Mortal figures and I really like them.

for around $12, reprolabels.com sells a sheet of around 25 cobra decals, just like the ones that came with vehicles. various colors and sizes, i keep some on hand at all times and find them invaluable as a customizer.

I don't see the Joe labels on their site anywhere.

How good of a printer do you need? How small can you make the decals? Whats the quality like?

You just need a regular ink jet printer. A laser would work as well I guess. I just use paint to print of the labels so I don't know how to make the decals smaller on it. Matt helped me with it and he said...
Matthew wrote:I print from Photoshop onto the decal paper. You can actually print from any paint type program and are not limited to printing from the testor's program.

There's a spray fixer that you spray over the decal paper after you print off the decals your going to use. You can either get a kit or just buy the paper and the spray seperate. The kit comes with a small cd but it don't let you import stuff onto its program. It says you have to buy the full cd on the Testors website to import the images and lets you make them smaller on it.

Hopefully that helps you out.

I've used the testors kit for a while now. If you're really interested in making decals, it's worth the money and get the kit and buy the upgrade which was only $20 if I remember right, because you can make waterslide decals that have clear backgrounds, so you don't have to worry about matching paint to printer inks. With my standard $90 dollar HP inkjet printer, I have made decals small enough to be used as shoulder patches that had great detail. With the ability to import your own images, you can scan existing decals, and with a simple paint program adjust their size, color, whatever. You can also use all truetype fonts. The only drawback I've found is that the kit only has a few sheets of paper, then you've got to mail order more.
