Got a tip to share? Have a question about the hobby? Need input on parts or weapons? Have great idea for a custom figure or vehicle? Too lazy to do it, or just want to share the idea with others? All that and more goes in here.

I have been doing RAH customs for it seems a life time and I thoought I would give the 25th annv. figures a try. Well I guess it's not as easy as some of you make it. I "forced" open my Gung-Ho only to have a screw driver mark in his side. Some of the heads are wobbly on other bodies etc... How or what is the trick? I have even seen some of you guys put RAH heads on 25th, I know your using a dremel of some sorts but what fitting are using so they fit? What the trade secret with customizing 25th annv figs? I have read that Hasbro said customizing is easy with the 25th and read how to seperate the bodies. Leaving screw driver marks is not easy. BRING BACK THE SCREW :-D
Thanks for ready and helping.

I personally dont use the Hasbro method of hitting it with a mallet on the corner of a block of wood. I use just take my exacto knife and begin seperating the torso below the arms on each side, after I finish with both side under the arms I start on one of hte upper seams. Usually by the time I get the first top seam done the other seam just sperates by itself when you pull the 2 pieces apart. As far puting a ARAH head on 25th figure, you will have to do several things. First cut the neck off of the head, I usually start buy cutting from the chin to just below the hair line on the back of the head. Once you get the neck smoothed out figure out where the neck ball would go into the bottom of the head and put a small mark there. Then I normally take my dremel with a small drill bit and drill a pilo hole at the angle it needs to go. So neck balls sit at different angles so you have to really look at this. After I get the pilot hole drilled I drill a hole the same size as the ball joint on the neck, checking the depth several times to make sure it fits well so your head isnt sitting to high on the neck. After I get the hole to the right depth, I then take a counter sink drill bit and drill out a little bit of the next til the hole reaches close to the jaw line. If you screw up and make the hole to big for the ball joint just take a little epoxy putty or green stuff and put it in the hole in the head and then push it back on the ball joint til you get a good fit and let it dry.

There's already been a long-winded thread where we all hash out the pros and cons of the two basic methods of taking the chests apart. I don't see an advantage to the Official method, which costs extra money for extra tools and runs the risk of bashing the neck post off the torso; but read the thread and see for yourself.

As to the neck fitting issues, use hot glue to fill in larger neck holes and dremel out the ones that are too small. If you go too big, then use hot glue for that one as well. No special 'fitting' appliance required.
