POLL: Name change for the Divination BAT?

I made this guy up a few months ago as part of the Beav Wierd Ass Figure Challenge 2

The Divination BAT bio:

Divination BAT

The details of the development of the Divination BAT are a closely guarded secret, though many believe that they are the accidental result of several failed experiments in Dr Mindbener's lab. At it's core, the Divination BAT is made up of an unknown substance, the formula for which was smuggled out of the former Soviet Union by a Crimson Guard whose cover had been blown. After several metallurgical tests, the substance was discarded, where it mistakenly got combined with the material used in a prototype BAT with experimental AI. Once the BAT went online, it's quirky old world behavior (the AI was written by a video game code protege) led Cobra leadership to scrap the project, and the DBat became just another lab assistant, until one day the BAT inexplicably reached out and palmed Dr Mindbender's forehead. Before he could remove it, the BAT's hologram projector hummed to life and projected not only what Mindbender had been thinking, but also a few other images that meant nothing to him. Immediately Mindbender started forming plans for his new toy and how best he could use it to his advantage when another lab BAT knocked over the stasis tanks, which matched one of the images that had meant nothing to Dr Mindbender, and he started to realize what it was he had. In true egotistical form, he crafted the some rudimentary vocal chips for the BAT, and placed his own likeness on the BAT's access panel, creating a sort of 'magic mirror' for himself to use. the predictions of the D BAT do not go far into the future, but Mindbender HAS found it to be a useful tool nonetheless, particularly when he has needed information from some unsuspecting individual, or when he is setting out on a task the Cobra upper echelon would not approve of...

I'm not entirely pleased with the name, but the bio still works for my current plans with Operation:Mindcrime, I'm just thinking of changing the name to Timebender

TimeBender seems to fit -- it goes well with your "Bender-verse".

I wanted to vote for "Douche-o-Tron", but it wasn't an option in the poll......

At it's core...its still a BAT. going by your bio, the Divination BAT only has Mindbender's Likeness applied to it's access port... It makes me think that while it's an important tool or prop in Opperation Mindcrime...it's not really a player or character...it's not the spawn of Mindbender's genetic material and shouldn't, nor does it deserve, a name that includes, Doctoring, Minding, or Bendering.

I'm not sold on any of the options given in the poll.

I do agree this character doesn't seem to be the kind of one that just gets something tacked on with 'BAT'. ie-like PsiBAT

This seems like a true individual and should have an unique name to go with it.

Given the Devo hat, maybe part of the back story is that this particular BAT has parts taken from a MTV satellite which has affected its core programming. While it does come up with unique visions of future projects, Dr. M tolerates the early MTV soundbites (plays parts from videos) because it makes all the other Cobras not take the BAT seriously.

Honestly it could be a deliberate programming thing so that Cobra Commander sees this droid as nothing, but Dr. M can hide it in plain sight in the lab. A deliberate 'tell' to hide a secret 'tell'.

As for a codename, go with other divination like words:

-Forecast (4CAST, Fourcaste)
-Percival or Percy (from perceive, which would confuse the other Cobras. Why DID Dr. M name/call this BAT 'Percy'? They just think he's being peculiar or eccentric.)

I've been thinking this over the last few days and finally thought of a possible codename:

'Foresee'

Could also be:
-BAT vIVC
-BAT v4c
-BAT 4C

or something like that...

This really makes me wanna finish up my own BAT custom, the Dreadnok called 'DingBAT'...

You know... I actually sort of like that. It plays nicely off of the normal BAT numbering, but still has the divination aspect hidden in there.

Nova also presents a compelling argument against Timebender in this case, though it IS a cool name, so I will need to make a figure that it works better for

Yeah, imagine this scenario:

Cobra Commander, the Baroness, and Destro show up in Dr. Mindbender's lab to check out his latest creation.

The Dr. needs assistance so he calls over a BAT. To them it just sounds like he is calling a specific BAT by using a shortened operating number.

Luke Skywalker would say, "Threepio or Artoo" and everyone knows it's those two droids.

Cobra Commander just thinks he is hearing "Fourcee (4c)" but doesn't realize it's actually 'Foresee'.
