getting the wheels off a ROCC

Got a tip to share? Have a question about the hobby? Need input on parts or weapons? Have great idea for a custom figure or vehicle? Too lazy to do it, or just want to share the idea with others? All that and more goes in here.

I'm trying to customize one of my ROCCs, and I really need the get the wheels off of the cab section. I can't seem to figure out how to remove them, though, without damaging either the wheels, axels, or the cab structure itself. Anyone know how to get these wheels off without destroying anything?

I've had no luck.

in trying to repaint a ROCC I ended up having to break the silver top part of the cab off right infront of the smoke stack on the right side....there is a pair of screws that hold that part down...and the rear tires block useable access to those screws.

I'd tried as much as I could to remove the wheels...went so far as to drill off one of the "hub caps"....the wheels are attached just like the APC or Vamp wheels were... the axel is a solid peice of metal, each end is ribbed...sorta looks like a screw but each ring dosn't connect to the other.

In such cases, I've found that holding my dremel head to the metal axle causes heat to transfer to the wheels, cause them to melt enough to be pulled off. Be careful not to let heat transfer melt the plastic axle-loops on the main body, tho.

If it's a question of needing to not spraypaint the wheels when you paint the body, wrap them in packing tape before painting.
