Separating 25A legs at the knees.

Got a tip to share? Have a question about the hobby? Need input on parts or weapons? Have great idea for a custom figure or vehicle? Too lazy to do it, or just want to share the idea with others? All that and more goes in here.

Howdy, folks;

I'm not sure if this has been discussed before and I couldn't find anything on it after a quick search.

I have have a few single-pack Cobra Troopers and a few Air Troopers. I decided I wanted my "grunt" troopers to have red logos and black web gear, and my Air Troopers to have the silver logo and puke greenish-yellow webgear, so I did a simple leg/torso swap. The problem I have now is that my grunts have silver boot chevrons and my Air troopers have plain black boots.

I realize that the easiest fix would be to paint the boots on my Air Troopers and to sand or otherwise remove the paint off my regular troopers, but I've still gotta ask the question; is there a way to separate the legs of the 25A figures at the knees?

You have to unscrew the thighs for the top of the knee joint. It looks like there's a peg or something that attaches the lower leg to the bottom of the knee joint. Is there a way to remove that peg?

yep, that's it. It works pretty good too.

I pulled all the knee pads off mine when I dyed their webgear, and I just used the dull back of a butter knife, slid down in between the flange of the "kneecaps' and the lower leg, on the small side, and give it a quarter twist. The small head on the plastec rivet pops out, and the rivet comes right out. When I went to put them back in, I placed the "kneecap," pushed the rivet through until it stopped, then put an unsharpened pencil against it, and pressed until it popped back in. I did 20 of these, including dying, in about 1 1/2 hours.
