It's pretty simple. I bring a bowl of water to a boil in the microwave (you could do it on the stove to keep it boiling if you're boiling and popping more than a part or two). Dip the joint in you want to separate for 30 seconds or so (that's for Sigmas, but for 25A's not quite as long...and parts vary). Then I use a microfiber cloth to hold the parts and pull them apart. They should pop apart fairly easily...if not, put it back in the water. If you're boiling on the stovetop, be careful you don't let the figure touch the pot. You may have to soften the parts again to put them back together. Be careful not to force anything or you could stretch, break or bend pegs. On 25A's you can pop feet, hands and elbows. The heads just pull off without boiling. On Sigmas you can do feet, hands, elbows, knee and heads. Hope that helps!

If you are not wanting to get into boiling water, the a hairdryer works just as well.

I use a Gerber and hairdryer when I need to pop parts apart. It keeps from having the entire figure get soft, I can then work with only the piece that I want to remover or swap.

Was just coming back to add about the hairdryer...but crowncoke beat me to it! :) Anyway, hairdryer's a good way to go for the 25A figures. For Sigmas, it might take a while to heat up enough, unless you have one of those ceramic/ionic ones. As for the whole figure softening...I just dip in the part I want. No need to stress the whole figure out if you don't have to. ;)
