I'm planning on RIT Dying the Torso and upper arms/shoulder of a Sgt. Bazooka, but want to keep the skin tones on the lower part of the arm the same. Is there anything I can use that can prevent the Dye from soaking into those areas during 'submersion'? Some sort of sealant perhaps? |

Hmmm...I'm wondering if you wrap some plumber's tape around those areas...definitely more than one layer and TIGHT so the tape kinda seals to itself (it won't stick to the figure)...would that work? |

Rubber cement coating the areas. It peels off afterwords. Heavy coating of vaseline on the areas not to be dyed not submerging them. like boil and pop, just hold in the part you want dyed. |

I've had some success masking off the areas with sculpty, but it bakes on and tou have to crack it off afterwards. This can also leave a bit of residue, but it cleaned right up for me. I'll have to try that plumbers tape idea next time I dye. |

Raptor has done something, but I can't remember. He may have used Stained Glass paint, then pealed it off. I could be totally wrong though. |

As much as I love the stuff it doesen't work to great with dye. |
