I've had a few issues in the past with RIT Dye residue seeping through joints and staining untouched fleshtone areas. I've tried solving this problem by lacquering the dyed area's and I've even waited up to a week after RIT Dying before applying these pieces and it still occurs. Do you know of anything I can use that would remove these stained areas? |

RIT does make a dye remover...of course, it's designed for use on fabrics and I've never tried it on plastic, but it might be worth a shot. It's usually sold right next to the RIT dyes. |

Interesting. In theory it should work on plastic. How is it packaged? A tube? |

I tried it tonight and was pretty satisfied with the results. Though the stains didn't go away completely, they did lighten up enough for me to consider it a success. I'd have liked to left the parts in the boiling water a bit longer but I was really concerned about warping the plastic. I'll experiment more next time. One more thing; when you do it, be sure to leave a window and fan running. The fumes are STRONG! |
