The local dollar store carries Tintex (tyntex?) brand fabric dye and I wonder if it works like ritedye for plastic? |

sounds like that's a negative. RIT dye is pretty cheap...how much cheaper is Tintex? Might be worth checking to see if they list any active ingredients and compare. |

I've never seen Rit dye in a store. Tintex is about a dollar a box. They require the same method for dying cloth according to the one website I found. I may try some on some of my fodder and see how it goes. |

At WalMart it sets with the bleach and clothes soap area. Don't know about other stores but I'd think it should be around the same area. |

Yeah, RIT dye is available pretty much everywhere...Walmart, Target, K-mart, even a lot of grocery stores (though they tend to only have basic colors) as well as specialty stores like Michael's. |
