dollar store fabric dyes?

Post subject:  dollar store fabric dyes?

The local dollar store carries Tintex (tyntex?) brand fabric dye and I wonder if it works like ritedye for plastic?

sounds like that's a negative.

RIT dye is pretty cheap...how much cheaper is Tintex?

Might be worth checking to see if they list any active ingredients and compare.

I've never seen Rit dye in a store. Tintex is about a dollar a box. They require the same method for dying cloth according to the one website I found. I may try some on some of my fodder and see how it goes.

At WalMart it sets with the bleach and clothes soap area. Don't know about other stores but I'd think it should be around the same area.

Yeah, RIT dye is available pretty much everywhere...Walmart, Target, K-mart, even a lot of grocery stores (though they tend to only have basic colors) as well as specialty stores like Michael's.
