Sweet find. I wonder what the cost will be. If it's in the $10's of dollars, I could really see using the service.

Could be a bit pricey: http://www.printapart.com/faqs/faq6.html
~$20 for ~.5"x.5"x.5" (rounding), but then ~$50 for ~1.5x1.5x1.5, then over $100 for 2x2x1.4

Once the price starts to drop, though, could be sweet.

finally got to read the entire article -- the modeler had crafted a 1/48 field air compressor (details are A-mazing!) -- the body of the thing is about the size of the last joint on an adult finger -- and it cost him $25 for the part, and $8 to ship. not exactly cheap, but not outside the realm of a one-off (head? helmet? gun? accessory?) for casting & cost recoup...

and it's still in it's infancy for this hobby...

sweet.

$25 for a custome helmet that I could then cast (as soon as I get my presure pot) is definatly within the realm of posibility for me. I'm gonna have to very seriously think about this.

i would gather that a custom helmet would be considerably less money! if you do this, make sure to post the process and product!
