So I'm doing some touch up paint on my group project repaint and notice a Slayer Design head staring me down. I pick it up because inspiration hits and I start banging out a fairly simple custom. As I'm finishing up that one another idea hits and I start working on some other fairly simple customs. That gets the juices flowing on something I've wanted to do forever that absolutely relates to the others. Before I know it, its past midnight. This morning I woke up just as excited about the project and just finished some research and did a quick sketch.

I can't remember the last time the customizing bug hit me this hard. When I'm working on a project, I'm 110% into it. So for me to jump from one thing to another and go off on a good tangent is a pretty big deal...to me anyway. Sometimes when I take a long break from customizing, when I get back into the swing of things it reminds me all over again how fun it is. However, I need to put an egg timer in there or something cause obviously I lose track of time way too easily.

welcome to the last 5 years of my life. lol

It is exciting to get that buzz going, but you're right about needing some discipline at the same time.

I've conditioned myself to live on 5 hours of sleep a night because of how late it is when I finally realize what just happened.

Oh, and this thread is useless without pics....

Some times I think I've made everything I've want to make. And then I wake up one morning, head straight to my work room, and start tackling figures that have just been ideas for years. Love it when inspiration hits.

If I can finish up tonight I should have 1 completed and possibly 2 WIPS to show.

Happened to me over the winter. By the end of February, I had 12 wips pieced together in various forms of completion. I have been slowly finishing them up, from paint jobs to dull coating, and showing them at a rate of about 2 per month. I have enough to keep this up until September or so.

Sorry, there was an emergency meeting of the Joe delegates to discuss the state of the fandom...or something like that.

Posted them first thing this morning. viewforum.php?f=14

I remember what it is like. I still have the inspirations and imagination for customs, but this last couple of years it has been getting harder and harder to get the enthusiasm and willpower together to start on customs sometimes. Even when I do and finish up customs like my recent 'Bollux', there is a sense of anti-climax when I finsh one. Over the last 18 months, there has been a combined period of 8 months when I haven't even picked up a brush or knife. My 'to-do' list now stands to at least 200 figures and 4 playsets, some already started and abandoned.
