I'll try to be concise....

I'm finishing a custom figure using a Marvel Universe base.
The character calls for a medium brown complexion head sculpt (examples: modern Lando Calrissian SW figures, Build N Brawl The Rock, Build N Brawl Rey Mysterio. etc.).

This custom will take a BEATING when it's done so i'd prefer a head molded in the color choice i want as opposed to painting the color on (only to have it eventually peel when it's in the bathtub , being flung against a wall or licked to death by the cat).

I've gone through Yojoe.com's database and i have only 2 choices and i'm not sure how either will look on a MU body (the Doc Samson body. if anyone has a pic that would be fantastic and appreciated):
http://www.yojoe.com/action/08/sgtstalker11.shtml

http://www.yojoe.com/action/09/ripcord3.shtml

I also don't want to be restricted to those 2 head choices .

Questions:
1. Can any of you think of other head sculpts that fit the description / criteria i mentioned ? They need to look natural on MU bodies (the largest preferably).

2. Worst case scenario ...if i need to paint a head to match can someone recommend a high quality water proof paint? I know within 2 hrs this figure will end up in a cup of water, tub or sink. Guaranteed. I want to avoid having to repaint the figure .

*sigh* That's it. Thank you :)

That Stalker is going to look eety bitty tiny on the large MU body. Truly comical.
The movie Ripcord head MIGHT be passable.

The Build n' Brawl heads don't look too bad on that mold since the heads tended to be larger. BnB The Rock or Retaliation Roadblock Rock, might be much better choices for you.

My initial thought would be to have the head you want to use, cast in the color you want it to be... but I'm not exactly unbiased or impartial...that may not be a reasonable option if there are cost considerations.

For something like that where it has to hold up to rough play, water, heat, and cold you may want to look at spray painting it. Something for indoor/outdoor use in a light tan color you are describing.

If the Rock works then Retaliation Roadblock should work too. Also Maruader 7 pack Red Dog http://generalsjoes.com/reviews/2011/ex ... eddog.html

Maybe Speed Metal too. http://www.yojoe.com/action/09/speedmetal.shtml

Whoa...helpful replies abound. Push You Down thanks for the feedback re: the Stalker head on the MU larger body. That rules out that experiment.

Nova
I thought the same thing but i only have casting resin right now and no urethane or silicone rubber on hand so i cant make it myself. Buying the rubber would be overkill for one head. IF you happen to have heasd for sale please link me. Maybe i'll luck up and find a nice sculpt that you can perhaps cast in the color i'd like ?

Pluv...man...i didn't even know Speed Metal existed. Thank you for heads up. The pic on yojoe suggest it might be the perfect base (assuming it doesnt look odd / too small on an MU body).

Do any of you have Speed Metal? If so can someone show me a pic of his head on an mu body (or a comparison shot next to an MU)?

Thanks for the suggestions all :)

Have you thought about either of these heads?

Willrow Hood (Ice-Cream Maker Guy from Empire Strikes Back:

Just needs some padding inside the neck hole

or:

Chap Mei Pirate:

I put them both on a MU Luke Cage body for comparison.

Kambei.... first off thank you for the non Joe MU head choices and the pics of the heads next to the Luke Cage body. You went above and beyond the call of duty. With that said..

...hmm. I think you nailed it with the Chap Mei Pirate head (which of course i sent off in a package to a board member 2 months ago . SMH). I'm still open to other suggestions but it fulfills all of the criteria i had for the head and one i didn't - it's a slightly older / more mature looking face .

I think that might be it :D It's the best candidate so far i believe.

Now if i can find the figure somewhere lol....

Well, my friend, it just so happens that I do have a spare of the Chap Mei pirate head if you want it? That is one of the reasons I suggested it. :-D

New clonetrooper could work too:

I've considered using the Ripcord head you posted as a last resort. It has a clean profile but it would require painting more than likely. I havent been able to find the head (the original at least) in any BST forums yet. If you have one i'm open to a deal.

A little off topic but...why the new Clone Trooper head? Is this a unique character that's different from the other clones? That head could work though with modifications (lots of sanding).

I was just trying to think of what was in stores, i.e. easier to get. I know those clonetroopers are glogging the shelves around here. Also, they don't look too much like the Jango heads that the older ones used, which was the other reason I brought them up over the ones that came out around Revenge of the Sith.

Also, there are a couple differnet ones that have come out, but some are harder to find. One was an ARC trooper and has a mohawk like haircut and a goatee:

There are also some animated clones that although "animated", they don't look that bad. What kind of hairdo were you looking for? Here's a bald one, his name is Waxer:
