I am working on a custom...vehicle...let's say...and it has a big dremel hole in it because I wasn't careful when I tried to customize the piece the first time around. Instead of filling/patching the hole, I am going to draw attention to it by making it look like the hole is the result of an explosive charge. The catch is it's a black surface. Normally, I'd just drybrush some black on there, it would look good and I'd call it a day. Not this time. Thoughts? |

gray would be a good choice, use a couple of shades and dry brush them out so you have a smaller area of one inside the other and depending what type of material it is supposed to be maybe paint the edges with a steel paint. |

Paint the inner edge of the hole silver... then a different shade of silver/grey around it. |

Exactly what nova said. That is what I do. http://www.joecustoms.com/customs/custo ... d=9&id=307 Depending on the size of the hole you can do some exposed wiring/tubing as well. Look at the second pic to see what I'm talking about. http://www.joecustoms.com/customs/custo ... =9&id=5357 |

I like the peel-back idea. I might have to try that. Gonna try some of the suggestions and see what I come up with. Thanks! |

You could also use a metallic color so show the bare metal underneath that is exposed from the hit. |

If you want to do more than just a paint effect, you can take Construction Paper or Tin foil, and glue it over the hole on the inside, then cut through the patch like it's a pizza, making wedges. push from the inside and bend/fold the wedges out around the hole to look a bit more like metal blow-back from the hit. |
