I appreciate the skill and talent... And the "LASER BLAST" ton of patience it takes to do that realistic style. But honestly I prefer the factory look |

I've been checking out her work this last week or so and some of them look great. That rock for instance is pretty cool, but some of those are absolutely soul stealing terrifying. It's pretty rad of her to write up such a detailed tutorial though, that's quite a bit of work. |

As impressive as that is, I have a hard enough time getting eyes to look like Hasbro's factory eyes. I can't see myself ever trying something so complex. |

But honestly I prefer the factory look thats what i thought. i think she does amazing work and asked her for any advice on a few other things and have a few tips i might try from that tutorial. but yeah i dont wont overly real looking quality i like toys i want them to look like toys still, for the same reason i dont like figures that are overly weathered looking with alot of washes and dry brushing. my ideal would be to make figures that look factory made not masterfully painstakingly customized. |

If you could imagine a 3rd example stuck in the middle of the two in that pic, that would be what I shoot for. I prefer realistic over factory, but I think in this scale it can be done without having to capture every shade and every shadow. At least, that is to say, that since I want to get more than one head painted per week with my customizing time, some sacrifices have to be made Also agree - the Rock there looks fantastic, but the Willis head did not come out looking nearly as cool. I'll take Shakka's version, personally, hands down. |
