Every time I try and talk about doing various things that I build from scratch, I always mention plastic rods. I get them from model tree runners or whatever. These can be used for tons of stuff from the peg to attach back packs in modern figures, to building frames for stuff. I've done so much using these.

There also is packages of plastic rods for plastic welding that works well. If you don't want to buy a model just for the tree runners, you can buy these. I got the package pictured from Harbor Freight but you can do an internet search if you don't have that option. These are well worth having at your disposal.

Where ever they sell model trains and model paint you can also get styrene rods. Clear acrylic rods for custom light sabers seems to be catching on too.

Yeah I forgot about those places. I used to have a model train place locally but they closed. I remember they had them and I used to get styrene sheets there even. Hobby Lobby is usually my source for certain things now along with Harbor Freight and a plastic specialty shop.

I could use some micro gauge styrene rods, I want to make some bolt-hinged weapons and after seeing the great work Obi-shinobi did with it, wow, just wow.

hehehe

I've been using the plastic legs from the tripods that are inside pizza boxes (they prevent the pizza box top from caving in and smashing the pizza) for years. Cheap i know lol.
