Post subject:  Odd Question? Transformer/Robot related

I'm looking for robotic hands/claws that are set on a ball type of peg or something like that. Need them to be on the larger side like this Wheelie figure, though needs to be able to hold up to play, as this custom is for a young one. Poseable hands/claws are a plus, though ruggedness necessity.

Anyone know of any toy out there that would fit my bill? Was thinking Tranformers, but can't find want I'm looking for, and have been searching for a long time. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Do they need to be able to hold anything, or is open handed/clawed okay?

I think there are some version of General Grievous that have feet that have a ball joint for an ankle, don't know if that's the right size though... I'll try to look in my robot fodder but I feel like I've seem something like this recently.

Grievous feet are too small for what I'm looking to do, but that is on the right track. I love that way outside of the box way of thinking, and with that even any feet from a robot that are like claws would do me too. Would be killer if they can hold something, but I know sometimes that is a tall order to ask for everything. Thanks for the suggestion.

You might look for some Bionicle parts. They used a ball and socket joint and have lots of different types of claws. They may be too big though.

Oh, good call. And those transformers build a figures (the lego-esque ones, not the new ones that are like the Marvel mashup heroes) were on clearance at Wal-Mart last time I went. Not sure what the connector is like on the wrist, but those should have big robot hands ready to go... just not sure about claws.

Loved that idea, as I wanted them on the larger side anyway. Though the ball they use to mount them is the same diameter of the arms I have :-/.

As for claws they don't really have to be, just thinking of load-lifter droid with this custom, though if they are just large hands will work too. Back to the search. Thanks again guys.

What about the hands from the Stikfas robot?

That Stikfas robot would work, but $140 is a bit much for a custom, even the $60 for the yellow one is just wow. Anywhere else they are being sold other than Amazon?
