I'm looking for a good tutorial on sculpting wraps like those on this Storm Shadow's wrists and lower legs. I've done similar before, but I remember struggling with it. I'm looking for a better way. Anybody got links to a tutorial page, PDF, or video that goes over this?

This may not help because it isn't really sculpting, but I used plumbers tape once and it looked nice. After I wrapped it around the shin, I think I dabbed glue in the seams to help hold it in place, and then I painted it all when it dried.

You could try the glue/facial tissue method -- I think sputters did a tutorial for this ...

basically, dip strips of kleenex or toilet paper in elmer's glue & wrap around the arm/leg. you can see an example of a blindfold done this way here: and a shoulder wrap here:

I've used this on several customs to decent effect.

Red Dog's wrist and ankle wraps.

For a roundabout way, I do three things:

1- I use the plastic hair rubber bands made for tying off braids micro size. (found in most chains in the hair/dressing/etc. section)

2- You can take one of those gift bags that are made from polyethelene (which are thin as paper but strong as leather) and using Loctite gel glue, start a wrap at the ankle and then wrap it with a bead of glue every 1/4" until sealed at the end.

3-(my favorite route) I take a figure that has the wraps that I am looking for, especially if it is a sacrificial figure and I cut the wrap parts from the extremities, and then bore out the center with varying drill bits until the wrap itself fits over the desired part. When I was making my Lara Croft based on the last game, I used the leg wraps from one of those Star Wars Battle figures, which were a ink-washed white. Boring them out and sliding them onto the arms of the figure I used give almost a dead-on appearance for the wraps of the character in the game. I use this all the time to give my figures interesting bracers, wristlets, anklets, watches, greaves, and so on.
