Saw two things that caught my eye when I venture into the younger children's toy section at Big Lots recently. Thinking about them enough that I thought I'd see if anyone else had seen these or thought they had potential.

Matchbox Big Boots Yeti Catcher $20ish

Here's a link to an image at TRU

This looked pretty big for the price point. Has some weird transforming/net launching gimmicks but it looks like there's space in the cab to fit figures. Normally I'd expect the compartment to be too small for Joes, but the big boots figures have giant feet, so it seems like there might be enough room to seat 1 or 2 4" figures. Looks like it has about enough detail to look on par with an ARAH era vehicle. Could see it as a troop carrier, dreadnok rig, zombie-hunter base vehicle... If it were <$15, I'd snag it for sure.

Imaginext Monsters Inc. Scare Floor $25ish

Amazon Product Image
This is another one, that for $10 less, I probably would have snagged. Seems like with a quick spray job it wouldn't be a bad lab/warehouse/techy backdrop. Not really deep enough for a great dio piece, but the external frame alone looks really good. Doorways and windows look a tad too short for 4" figures to interact with, but might not look bad behind one.

Anyone else see some potential projects in these, or am I grasping at straws 'coz I'm not seeing much other inspiration on the pegs.

I have looked at both of those items multiple times trying to figure out how feasible it would be to work them into the GIJOE universe.

The JOES need a realistic big arctic type vehicle that isn't some sci-fi-ish looking thing (looking at you Cold Front, Windchill, and some of the BF2K guys).

The Monsters Inc set I was trying to see if it would work for a Cobra Toxo-Sludge/Compound Z factory.

The Yeti vehicle reminds me of the All Terrain Vehicle (Hama used the phrase before it was used by ATV companies!) in the early Marvel run. It doesn't have a separate cabin and body area or six wheels, but it has the vibe.

I've bee looking at those as well.

The Monster Inc set I was thinking could make a cool Ops Center but I wasn't willing to do the work.

I saw that Monster's Inc scare floor at a Tuesday Morning store for $16ish a week or so ago, and just remembered.

I like the Yeti Catcher. I now want to see it for myself to ponder whether to try and grab it before the baby comes.

I could always say I bought it for her... Hmmm...
