I have a really rough HQ. Everything is in good shape but the stickers are shot.

It may be blasphemy but I never liked the stickers on it, even as a kid.

Anyone ever done custom stickers/ small mods to it to make it better?

I want to keep it similiar to the original, but just make some slight improvements...

any ideas greatly appreciated.

If you're up for it you could try illuminating the computer screens with some simple LEDs and clear plastic screens with some new stickers on them.

The only other thing I can think of is repainting it and painting all the little details like the blankets and pillows on the jail cell bunks, detailing out the computers and adding some new stickers from Cobrastickers.com. Add in some fun features like gun racks and some PTE lockers and fire extinguishers in the vehicle bays. Basically giving it some 30th anniversary style details.

My biggest gripe was that some of the computer/monitor screens featured drawings (which were lifted from Marvel's #1, I think). Having drawings punctured the "fourth wall" created by the command center's environment.

If you're going to have any images of characters, I'd start with photos of actual toys and then run them through some kind of photoshop filter.

For example, if you wanted an image of a character appearing to be "on screen", go for something like this:
