Someone posted a dio for 6" figures on another board and he created a grass/yard effect by using a "mock ground-cover [bought] at our local Jo-Ann’s Fabric. It’s a coarse, matted hemp painted in rich browns and vivid greens..."

Here's a pic:

Does anyone know what the proper name of this fabric product is? I can't seem to find it on Jo-Ann Fabric's website.

I do.

It is from the 'Ashland ' line of craft/decorating products. They make two types of ground cover, the one pictured which is a natural product of hemp and dried moss that has been glued to a mesh. The other product, which comes in circles and even a roll, is synthetic and to my opinion a far superior product that I would use and suggest over the natural.

The natural hemp product for lack of a better term, stinks. It has a musty odor that cannot be covered by aerosols, or even perfumed, It suffers the same problem as most natural products which is desiccated patches that disintegrate over time.

Their synthetic product, which I have so I will show the difference once I get it out, is a ground cover where they adhered patches of synthetic green grass flocking onto a synthetic brown mesh, over a grey almost wooly pile. It can be cut, glued, or even repainted or reflocked. It has no odor whatsoever, and the height of the grass flocking is PERFECT or our figures, where the natural product is of a larger consistency and often looks out of scale, like taking a picture in one's natural yard.

This is the small circle, which is nearly seven inches in diameter. Only $5.

The roll of it, which I don't own but want when I can afford it, is about $15 for an almost two foot by six inch roll.

So all that is is moss attached to mesh? I guess it's not really something I need to worry about looking for then. Thanks for the info.
