It comes with heat activated molding material that can be remolded by heating, and it comes with UV resin in blue and red. You inject it into the mold and press a button the turns on a UV light that cures the resin in only a minute or two. It really seems like a great way to make small scale molds in a small batch. It seems really easy to use and ideal for making small part one or two at a time. With a little bit of research seems however there may be a limit to how thick you'll be able to make the molds, because the center of the parts might not cure do to the UV light not penetrating well enough. Weapons and accessories should be perfect for this, but heads and body parts maybe not. I wonder if the UV will work with other UV resins available and if the UV light can penetrate other heat activated molding materials? |

I've been doing this manually for a couple months now and it works pretty well. I've been using the resin pens and the Blue Stuff molding material, then holding the light to it for about a minute, moving it around. This could definitely make it a lot easier. |

Are you having trouble getting thicker pieces to fully cure? |

I haven't so far, but I haven't done anything super-thick yet. |

Both of these heads are Mega-scaled, so about the size of a pea, but they were made by taking a mold of a blank head then sculpting the details on:  The nice thing with this stuff is that it bonds well to itself, so if your mold is fairly open, like a head mold would be, you could put in a little material, set it, then add more, set it, add more, set it, etc. until you get a completed piece. |
