| Post subject: | Clear finish on vehicle custom: before or after decals? |
It's been a while since I've finished a vehicle custom, so I'm a bit lost here. Should I put the decals on first and then spray on a clear coat finish? Or decals afterwards? They're regular decals, no water-slide. The clear coat is either matt or satin finish. |

For regular decals, clear coat first, then decals. I tried it the other way around, and they ended up peeling and taking the paint off. |

I always do decals last. I've had the decals yellow or buble after spraying on a sealer. The only ones I clear coat now are ones I print off on paper labels and I hand paint clear coat on for those. |
