My Walmart used to sell couple of Testors acrylic colors/paint sets in the model kit section. But when I goto Micheals or the local hobby shop, its only in enamels they have a wide selection of colors to choose from. So the only place for me to get Testors acrylics is their website. |

My local Hobby Lobby is split down the middle with Testor's oils and water-based paints. I'm thinking this sort of thing is very much left up to individual store discretion, so I'd start talking to managers. |

The Michael's here does, or did--but only in the bright colors used for race cars (the 7 bottle set). Everything else Testor's was enamel. AC Moore (right down the road) doesn't even get that far--Testor's enamel only. I guess the main reason is these tend to be a "high end" paint aimed at a more specific market (model railroaders, customizers, miniature enthusiasts) than these stores were designed to cater to; they're more aimed at the crafter/art school student/amateur artist, the ones who want useful stuff without paying a lot for it. |
