Post subject:  Restoring a Devilfish: Back hoses replacement?

Hello

As the title says, I'm missing the 2 back hoses for my Devifish. The pegs hoses are a bit bigger than the regular accessory fig hose. Do you know good replacement for these? Does someone here make replacement Devilfish hose?

Thanks for any help.

Yeah.. and since I don't have these, I don't know the lenght or how big they should be to fit the peg.

Anyone can help?

What about aquarium tubing cut to size and painted black? Or airbrush tubing?

Ok, so there are no supplier of these Devilfish's hoses? No real replacement parts?

So I contacted SmallJoes. They can provide Devilfish hose size. But, they need many customers.

Who would like to purchase Devilfish hoses? And how many ?

It's been a while since I've checked but wire sheathing should be an adequate replacement in a pinch.

My problem is I don't have original hose, so I have nothing to compare with.

This look so close, but a little bit too large. What do you think?

if you can find a range of straws, coffee stirrers, or other hollow round things you could slip them over the peg to see is you can find a size match. then you could do the same thing sticking solid round pieces into the hollow match and get real close to your peg size.

carry that to the hardware store or dig around to find something.

i was just thinking i would probably drill out where the pegs are and insert some black coated wire. i know most people wouldn't drill out 30 yr old toys though. what about making sleeves to attach solid wire? it would be like a coupling .

something like this, but at a much smaller size. it could be made from rubber, metal, plastic, or anything that slips over the peg.

this is the last heatshrink set i bought.

it won't work on it's own as hoses though because it won't bend and hold the shape well. so something inside would be needed. i'm thinking coiled wire like inside an old radiator hose might work.

i don't have a devilfish or i'd try and make a hose. if you have an "old cord" drawer or bin somewhere i bet an old charger has a good size wire cord.

I made some tests, and here what you will need:

1. USB cable, type B (square ended)
2. Cutter to cut about 2.5 cm
3. Long nose pliers to withdraw the cable content

In the picture, I installed one hose on the Devilfish while the other hose is still on my desk.
