As of last year I have found myself sucked into Battletech. In that time I've only been applying Primer & a Leadbelcher base for exposed inner machinery. Been hesitant to move from there as I'm not sure what colors to use, and Leadbelcher doesn't jive well with Contrasts. Seriously, it turned a Green Gold. Through trial and error, I found out a coat of rattling grime will tone down the leadbelcher, give it a nice steel/iron look to it. So, I fall back on my old goodie... my testor's model masters acryl.

I have finished painting up a Black Knight in OD green, and plan on using it on a few more units. Unfortunately I didn't screw on the lid tight enough last night, and naturally it spilled over the tacklebox I used to store it in. I tried to minimize the waste best I could, but I do not know how much I have left.

I'm sure that many of you know that with Testor's having been bought out, it has stopped all production of their Model Masters. Already went scrounging around town for stray bottles prior to this with no luck. Might have to dig in the basement but I doubt that will do any good.

The locust should be no problem, being how tiny it is. The Nightstar however (the big chonker it is), I don't know. Might have to fall back on a Hiss colorscheme (Not kidding, it looks like the crimson hiss). Plus, I also have D&D minis and some Joecustoms still sitting on the dusty back burner that I already started with that shade of OD green.

Anybody have any suggestions for a line of paints with a solid Acrylic OD green?

seeing how i just got back into customizing seriously a couple years ago and going through the motions of not having testors model masters anymore, or any of my other long dead brands (that were dying out when i was into customizing in the early 00's) and living in a black hole of hobby stores...i started using craft paints mixed with liquitex flowaid and being satisfied with the results. i really struggled with moving into craft paints because prior to flowaid i could never get them to work right and i hated them.

granted, it's not hobby paint and i am in too deep to move on from craft paint - but if i were to take it all back and wait a couple more months i would have moved into proacryl by monument hobbies. it sounds like you're painting miniatures, and that's what this paintline is created for (with a twist of being a general hobby paint)

that's my recommendation. try the proacryl paint line by monument hobbies.

Ninjon on youtube reviewed them and said great things, but for some reason i cant find the video now. i've edited this comment six times already.
