At the same time, I fully understand. Joesightings was my home, then here, but life keeps getting in the way. I haven't been able to do a lot of customizing, as is likely true with most of us in this day and age. Hopefully the FB page will stay up and we can keep in touch there or through IG, but for now, again, Darn

Damn. This place was the first joe forum I ever found, sometime around 2003 or 2004 I believe. Sad to see it shut down.

Whoa...it has been a WHILE since I've signed in (about 20 years, I think...wow). Anyway, I heard about this through the grapevine and just had to drop in to pay respects. Even though I haven't been around in a long time, I still look back at this board with find memories. It was a fun place to hang out and hands-down the best place for getting thoughtful, insightful critiques on my work (from fellow customizers that I was proud to call my peers).

I'm fairly new but I'll hate to see this place close even a little. Seems every forum I join slowly starts to wind down, I can't really find anyplace to settle. True there is social platforms, but I too prefer forums like this, it's just easier to follow, find info and get in touch with people.

I'll keep posting till I can't post any longer, I'll leave the key open.

This is very sad news for sure, though I totally understand the rationale. This site really made me feel like a true member of a collecting community and was the one that I always considered to be my “home”, even though my customizing output was pretty infrequent. I enjoyed getting to meet so many members in person over the years and still consider so many of you to be some of my best friends ever. I think the community and the well defined purpose of the site helped it hold on as long as it has in the face of the overall shift to social media. I hope I at least helped a little bit to extend the site’s life with my efforts to integrate the group project customs into each customizer’s gallery page!

Thank you pluv and everyone who contributed to the site for all you did for us over the years! The site may soon officially be gone but it will never be forgotten.

I totally understand the reason, but having said that this really sucks.
I've been coming here since 2000 when it was recommended to me by a friend of mine. I don't post as much as I have in the past but I keep a tab open on my tablet all the time. In fact it's the first tab I have opened up top. Always has been.

I really don't do social media. I have a Facebook account but its under my screen name and the only things I follow are some toy companies. Some of my friends know its me, but I don't like putting personal info online. I haven't even friended my friends on there.
I will go to places like TFW2005 to make sure I don't miss any upcoming Transformers releases that I may be interested in. Or Rebelscum to keep up on the latest Star Wars releases, but I rarely interact with anyone there.

Joecustoms was the place I go to interact with people.

Sad to see it go.

Even though I rarely visit the site anymore this news is kind of a bummer. I completely understand why but still.

I just logged in today for the first time in I don't know how long. Sad to see it coming to an end. I know I've never been a huge member of the community but I've been coming here since I was about twelve years old.

It's sad to hear that the forums will be shutting down in the first week of January 2024. They've been a great place for discussion and learning. Thanks to the moderators and community for all the valuable interactions. Let's make the most of the time we have left to share knowledge and connect with one another.

Man this socks. I just got into customizing a little over a year ago. Then I had to move for work and I spent the past year not being able to do anything because there was no space in the apartment. Now that we finally got into a place with more room to work, I see this.

At first was just a "don't worry guys. Prepare to shut down in January - but for only a week" kind of post. But it's worse than that I guess.
