I just got home from a pre-memorial day cemetery run and guess what was waiting for me at my doorstep! My wave 4 has come in!. I just busted out one of the Oni and already he is a vast improvement over Hibiki and the other Oni from the last wave. The shoulders seem to have much better range of movement, joints feel very smooth, and the hands went in with no problem at all. The quality feels much better with this wave.

Got them yesterday.
Great looking set, but I didn't have time to look at them properly yet.

I only had time to open and pose my Rider one figure. A really awesome figure.

My double is Ibuki (the blue trumpet guy)

I knew it was about time for some MRS news. Amiami posted today an entry for another wave of Monster Hunter figures, due in Agust. No details on what armors will be in this wave at the moment. Hopefully these won't suffer the constant delays the first assortment had.

'Constant delays'? First I'm hearing of such things.

Anyone know the scoop on these Sengoku Basara figs? Would they be good for parts cannibalization? I can't find any scale info anywhere, but they look pert near 18th scale.

The first Monster Hunter assortment was supposed to come out in March and it just got released on around the 20th or so of May. That's a bit of a delay. Can't help you on the Basara figures. Amiami doesn't have 'em listed anymore and I never saw any while I was in Japan.

I wonder when we'll see some info on the next Rider wave of MRS? Some of the stuff they've been showing off lately for Kiva looks pretty cool, such as Kiva's Emperor form, Riders Rei and Arch(yeti and devil themed, respectively), and Ixa's Rising Form. I really hope they do Rei, but the only movie Rider they've done so far is Gaoh, so the likelyhood of Rei being made isn't too high.

Meh, if you wanna talk about delays, let's talk about the GoodSmile Tachikoma + Motoko that was due last November and still hasn't seen the light of day. I'm cool with a March-to-May delay if the figs are good.

Oh, look; they are good!

I don't know jack-all about whatever 'Monster Hunter' is, so tolerate my mis-nomenclature, please. They've got all the articulation we've come to love and expect of the MRS line, so no need to go in depth there. The case and boxes are about 50% bigger than the Kamen figs due to the extra gear. They all come with 2 pairs of hands, basically grabby hands with one pair having sockets in the palms to better hold the weapons which have pegs on them.

I call these guys the BeefEaters because they remind me of the guy on the liquor bottle somehow. The left BeefEater comes with a giant hand cannon, a barrel with a pair of cat's eyes in it for some reason; and a sheep's horn or something. Altho I think he's got the better paintjob, he definately lags in the gear dept.

The right Beefeater comes with a keen DragonBow with four 'points' and a big arrow that's more of a harpoon, really. The harpoon breaks in half to be assembled going thru the dragon's mouth like you're gonna shoot it. He also comes with a blunderbuss, a quiver that attaches to the screwhole in his back, and a hunk of meat on a bone (I think that's what it is, no doubt some bait for whatever Monsters they Hunt).

I've promised one of each sculpt to Liftoff. While I prefer the Left's paintjob and the Right's gear set; it's possible I might feel guilty if I swap stuff around and screw Lifty with the lesser stuff. Maybe. I might have to gamble on it and find out.

The Valkyries all have identical clothing, but different skin tones. From left to right we've got a white chick, an Asian chick probably from Japan, and a Hispanic/Mediterranean chick. I'll keep two, do some headswapping so they're not so anime-looking, and make them actual Valkyrior for Thor to bang.

From left to right the gear sets go:
White Chick: some big weird dragon head thingus. It's got a panel in back that comes out to expose a mouth hole or something. Again, not knowing jack-all about 'Monster Hunter', I really don't have a clue what the hell this thing is or does. She also has a pair of knives that look like they're made from a dragon's scale and horn, respectively.

Asian Chick: the winner of the good gear, easy. She's got some weird harpoon/pike thingus, a shield, and a great giant-ass Bowie knife sword. I'll definately be keeping the sword.

La Chica Chick: The weirdest set of gear in the entire lot, and the one Lifty will be getting, no doubt. She comes with a swappable cat head, a bomb-barrel with a fuse sticking up, a barrel-lid shield, and a catspaw mace thing. It's pretty much all kinda weak here, in all honesty.

Now to the winners of the whole set, the DragonKillers. I'm really torn here which one to give to Lifty as want to keep them all. The red guy is staying exactly as he is, and one of the others is gonna get bashed to make a really cool custom (I hope). I was thinking I'd use the gray one for this, but that'd mean I have to give up the blue one, which is also really pretty since I like blue so much. We're gonna have to fight over this choice, I think. Where'd I leave my brass knuckles?

Gear-wise, it's all pretty good.
Gray Killer comes with the giant fist-hammer and that stupid-cool vertebral scythe. That's just too cool to give up.

Red Killer comes with a giant weird-but-cool squared-off sword, a sheath for the other sword that comes with a removeable pommel, and the other sword that's got all this keen runic writing all up and down the blade.

Blue Killer has a funky shield that reminds me of a buffalo's head, a giant narwhal's tooth lance, and a pair of knives similar to the White Chick's horn knife, sorta.

And a comparison pic:

The skirts on the guys are kinda floppy, so some gumming up of the ball sockets on their waists would help greatly, I'd think. Some of the weapons are made of soft plastic so they're all bent out of shape due to being hot on the porch after the post-dude dropped them off. Nothing some boil-n-freezing won't help, tho.

Beyond that, they rock. Go halfsies with a buddy so you don't have a lot of dupes everywhere; but get them so your 18th scale collection doesn't suck.

Actually, I liked the floppyness of the skirts since it keeps them from really getting in the way. The weapon the Asian Kirin comes with is a lance. The game is notorius for having huge oversized crazy ass weaponry(usually made from monster body parts). I'm surprised they didn't make any of the more familiar gear, like the Hunter armor or the dragon jawbone sword.

didn't I tell you these figures were cool though? Oddly, the entry for another wave of Monster Hunters on amiami has disappeared.

time to revive this thread. The next wave was shown at the recent Tokyo Toy Show. So far I've only seen one site get pics of 'em though. They look nice and IXA and V3 looks to be winners.

Kiva Dogga Hammer Form and Kiva Garuru Saber Form

Kamen Rider 2 and V3

Kiva Garuru Form

IXA Burst Mode

Thanks for the pictures.

I can't wait to complete the rider trio with #2 and V3
Ixa looks great too!

Who's suppose to be the suprise in this set, do we know?

Just how many of these sets can we expect to get? Are we talking one or two more sets, or will we still be getting these on into 2020? I can't really decide how to incorporate them until I get all of them.

No clue how many we can expect. I'd be pleased if this line continued as long as the shows do. Strangely though, there haven't been any announcements yet for a wave following this one that was shown at the toy show.

No clue who the secret is or if there even is one. I didn't notice any mention of one on Amiami's listing. If there is one, I'm guessing Shocker Rider since that'd just be a repaint of Rider 2.

A shocker Rider would be nice.

I too hope this line continues beyond the next wave.
I wouldn't mind if they made past riders like Agito, Kuuga and the older generation riders.

Black and Shadowmoon would be nice, but what I really want are the tech riders. G-3, EX, Mild, G-4, Faiz, Kaixa, Delta, Psyga, and Orga. Psyga and Orga probably have the lease likelihood of being made seeing as how there haven't been any movie Riders made yet beyond Gaoh and The Next's guys.
